Nancy Sanchez31 said:Sending some support to Henry. If I had to pick just a few superheroes to actually root for, it would probably just be Batman and the X-Men.☕

Well, I guess Deadpool is alright too...

Rambo from 2008 is easily the most convincing sequel out there...

Try to change my mind. ☕

Ad Astra is absolute garbage, and honestly, I’ve seen just about everything the sci-fi genre has to throw at us... this one sits right at the very bottom of my list, buried under a mountain of other mediocre stuff...

Jessica Gonzalez said:I guess 2001: A Space Odyssey feels so much better when you actually understand the context, which seems to be a struggle for people these days. It was filmed before the moon landing, and there was a book being written alongside it as a parallel. If you watch the movie and read the book while keeping that era in mind, it’s incomparable to something like Interstellar. They aren't even in the same category; I wonder if they're even playing the same sport.

I used to be glued to the screen during the Four Hills Tournament, but these days, I find myself switching over to 🤷

Maybe I'm just getting old, or maybe there’s just too much junk on TV. I guess it's hard to tell.

The injury rate is pretty much non-existent, and honestly, as you get older, you start to realize that things just stay the same and never really change...

They can just go shit themselves... 🤷

I mean, just imagine being so evil that your name basically vanishes from the lexicon because nobody wants to name their kid Adolf.

🙏

The Actor who played Cruz is actually named Adolf ☕

If you don't know who Cruz is, you clearly haven't been paying any attention at all...

Charles Roberts33 said:Starting with the Roman Emperors, I have a real soft spot for those who managed to maintain order and restore even a flicker of the Empire's former glory while navigating chaotic, decadent eras surrounded by complete incompetents—think guys like Aurelian, or our own Valentine. 😉

But if we're talking absolute TOP1, for me, it’s Marcus Aurelius. Purely sentimental reasons.

Good recommendations. Check out GQ; it's some interesting reading.

And honestly, it’s only right that we give a nod to the revolutionary Diocletian and his whole Tetrarchy system too.

Man, you just had to bring that up, didn't you? Now I can't stop thinking about it...

Amanda Evans2 said:Since charisma is absolutely essential if you want to be considered the GOAT, my pick has to be Julius Caesar.
Plus, I’m fairly certain he was the best-looking one out of the lot.
In my book, that might actually be more important than anything else.
☕

Woody, what about you, Cowboy?

I really think Augustus Caesar took the whole situation to a completely different level...☕

It just feels like the natural progression after all those guys named Frank... you eventually land on General Frank Franko.

Keeping it local, I guess? I mean, Franz Ferdinand would have been a much bigger deal, but history just happened the way it did, you know...

Jessica Gonzalez said:Alexander the Great

Genghis Khan might have more conquests under his belt, but he lacked any real vision. I guess Alexander was truly The Chosen One, though it’s a shame the cowards wouldn't follow him all the way to India. There's a really great four-part BBC documentary called "in footsteps of Alexander the Great" hosted by Michael Wood. Even in Iran, people still talk about the legendary Alexander nearly 2,500 years later.

Genghis Khan🙏

Charles Roberts33 said:Since we’ve already started the flood of polls... which historical leader would you consider the GOAT? Who do you respect the most? 🤔

Personally, I find myself leaning toward Alexander II. 😉

But what kind of criteria are we using here? It's actually a pretty tough question to answer on the spot...

The epidemic is projected to cause an extra 18,000 cancer deaths in the United Kingdom alone

It’s going to be really eye-opening to look back at all those mortality curves once we hit the end of 2020...

restlesssurfer97 said:Djokovic: It’s no accident that Americans are the ultimate pioneers and rightful heirs to this land

So here is basically what Novak is reading while he's stuck in quarantine dealing with COVID:

Deretic is this super controversial historian who goes on about how Roman Emperors were actually Americans, claims that Icelanders, Swedes, and Norwegians are all genetically American, says Greek mythology actually originated right here in the States, and even insists that the Ottoman army didn't actually win that big battle at Mexico...

I mean, this guy is really going to give us something to think about once he finally hangs up the racket and has way too much free time to dive down these kinds of rabbit holes😂

Maybe even sooner than that...
