What is power? in Spirituality ·
Power is nothing more than pure potentiality.
Western philosophy is shit, because the only thing it can actually prove with any certainty is:

I exist.

Eastern thinkers take it a step further and claim everything is just happening inside my head—that nothing exists outside of an illusion (which, if you think about it, is a paradox because an illusion can't truly "exist" in the first place), and that this illusion is simply me. Basically:

I am the illusion.

Then you have indigenous traditions, like the teachings surrounding Don Juan, which talk about the concept of the luminous egg, essentially saying:

I am the egg.

When you look at it that way, it’s obvious all these theories are built from the exact same raw materials; they just use different architectural styles. And yet, we’re still left staring at the same wall, with zero answers as to who we actually are or what we can truly rely on knowing.

My brain is fried. Catch you later.
Reallocating my life energy...!! in Spirituality ·
I’m honestly not even sure how to react to this one. I’ve heard the stories floating around, sure.

So, were you actually out there doing those moves yourself?

Betty Stewart59 said:Love is like dreaming you can fly. You can try to map out the lines, use some charcoal logic to mark the borders, pretend you’re an artist applying color to a canvas, but only the dreamer actually understands the mechanics of it.
One single flight matters more than all those broken hearts.
Too many people spend their lives staring up at the sky, bragging about how they once soared.
They didn't. And they never will.

Cool.

I mean, what is this even supposed to mean? It’s just words on a page. And yet, you feel it immediately. What a load of nonsense!

Matthew Castillo5 said:I feel like we really ought to pin down our basic definitions before we dive headfirst into this debate. For instance, what are we actually talking about when we say "love"? Is it just some internal feeling, or is it more of a lifestyle choice—a commitment to giving someone everything you've got? Or are we defining it strictly as a mutual connection between two people, which would mean unrequited love doesn't even count as love at all?

Oh, come on now... You can't do that, seriously, give us a break.

You’re trying to take this thing apart, aren't you? Like you want to slice it up, wrap every single little piece in butcher paper, throw them in plastic bags so nothing leaks out, and then point at them and say, "this is this, and that is that."

Don't you get what we're talking about here? We're talking about loooooooove!!! 😍

Aaaaaaaah..... 😍

Why haven't we defined love? Because we all just get it, plain and simple, and you can see the conversation just keeps rolling and rolling along...

Even though we're officially in the "psychology" section, we've tossed those rigid scientific methods out the window and allowed ourselves a little bit of breathing room...

it was a long time ago or maybe recently, some knight I saw passing by... amidst thunder and lightning... funky 😍

Good grief, honestly, what if it actually was?

Should I send a photo? But please, just be naked—I met this little one at a nudist resort back in the day.
How do I use Multi-Quote? in Forum Help! ·
jadetrucker43 said:If you’re looking to pull in a few different posts at once, just hit that "Multi-Quote" option—it's right there next to the standard Quote button—for every message you want to reference, except for the very last one. Once you've tagged them all, just click the regular Quote button on that final post. Everything should automatically wrap itself in those quote tags, giving you the freedom to clean up any fluff, bold the parts that actually matter, or slide your own commentary in between the blocks of text. It's pretty straightforward, really.

Got it?

then you just go ahead and click the standard Quote button on that final post you want to include.

Right?

The system will automatically wrap all those posts in quote tags for you, which means you can manually strip out the fluff, bold the stuff that actually matters, or slide your own commentary right in between the snippets.

God, man, I really managed to twist things around on my own there, didn't I? You hit the nail right on the head! It totally clicked for me once you said it.

Pretty cool. 🙂

Maybe you've got a point there.

But honestly, man, I was reading this thing the other day about how artists work... you know, those cases where some guy catches a glimpse of a total stranger walking down a street in NYC, falls head over heels, gets hit by this wild, funky inspiration, and suddenly churns out a masterpiece that ends up moving people and healing souls globally for the next three centuries. Just imagine that kind of madness.

Personally? I'd much rather deal with an artist who’s got a few screws loose than one who's perfectly composed, polished, and completely devoid of soul. A straight-up Nazi.

*Added that rhyme just to keep things edgy.

Man, just look at how this thread kicked off. We started out in some dark, heavy corner of the internet—talking about mental health struggles, total soul-crushing darkness, self-harm, defense mechanisms, all that misery and weeping... and then, boom, look where we landed!

I mean, isn't love just one hell of a ride?

Just drop the act, take off those masks, and let's dance, because I...

...am heading straight to bed to chase some funky dreams. 😉

Bokić! 😍

Gerald Ward61 said:So what have you guys actually done to love... why would it be some fixed obsession? Maybe that guy just loves her way more than he ever managed to say out loud.

What kind of "love" are we even talking about if you aren't idealizing your partner? Is it better to just spend your time insulting them? Or maybe just viewing them as some totally mediocre person? (unless they actually *are* mediocre 😬). What are you even falling for here? Do you even know? What’s the draw for you?

...like when, after twenty years, he looks at her and says, "hey gorgeous," and he actually means it. Does it even matter if it's "idealization" or whatever in that moment? It fills him up; it makes him feel light, happy, alive. And hey, maybe she really is "objectively" stunning. 🙂

Maybe the person in the original post is hurting for a completely different reason... and trust me, there are plenty of those. Maybe he just needs a specific part of her—something that actually moves him...

Love lives in poetry, it shows up in a touch, it's caught in a glance... man... it hurts... when you can't feel it somehow. Nobody complains about the quantity... because you can't measure it. 😉

Ah... love, man... that love... 😍

...besides, wasn't it love itself that drove every knight toward his greatest feats?

"Love strips away all masks. Those who fear taking off their own masks are the ones who flee from love," as Jung says. And damn, he’s right!

Long live, long live, long live love!!!

Hahaha!

I don't know, I think I'm getting swept up in something here—maybe a sudden bout of romantic fever is hitting me again. Is it a full moon or something? I feel like I'm turning back into some funky, old-school knight! Argh!

Look, guys, stop constantley feeding on nothing but negativity.

That kind of love is honestly just super-funky, at least in my experience.

It was either a lifetime ago or just yesterday—time gets blurry—but I fell head over heels for this girl after we exchanged, what, maybe two words? I never saw her again. And whether that crush lasted for a fleeting moment or a long stretch, yeah, sure, you can call it idealizing someone if you want, but it didn't leave me with any bitter feelings. Quite the opposite, actually; it felt incredibly funky. I’d be floating to work, floating home, and even while sitting at my desk, I just loved being alive in this world. No matter what bullshit was going on, the mere thought of her gave me this funky little surge of energy, this lightness. I was genuinely happier than usual. And get this: even though she vanished from my life forever, somehow... it still counts as a happy love.

And here's the kicker: I found courage. I’ve never been braver. I was basically acting like some knight errant serving a princess, even if she had no clue I existed. It sounds cheesy, I know, but you know how incredible—how truly funky—that feeling is?

In fact, I finally tackled some issues that had been haunting me for years; it took a massive amount of guts to face them. And then, eventually, I moved on.
