Honestly, I’m starting to wonder if we’re even watching the same Magic Johnson at this tournament. From where I’m sitting, he is quite literally the alpha and omega of this squad—he’s the only one actually setting the tempo, serving up plays on a silver platter that our guys simply can't convert into points, running himself ragged on defense, and still scoring enough to lead the team in scoring like he hasn't aged a day.
He’s forced to play solo because, frankly, there isn't anyone else on this roster capable of stepping up—once the rest of the team inevitably loses their cool, Magic is the only one left they can pass to.
Without him, this national team is going to get absolutely blown out by something like 15 points every single night.
We might as well start bracing ourselves now.
