Kevin Garcia12 thanks so much for getting back to me. Honestly, looking back, there was an 11-hour gap between that pre-pathological CTG reading and the actual autopsy—so yeah, we probably could have just skipped the games and gone straight to the autopsy instead of trying for a vaginal delivery. But look, both the doctor and I had already made up our minds to try the vaginal route. We didn't know about the meconium until the autopsy happened, because my cervix stayed completely shut the entire time during induction. If an amnioscopy had been possible and we’d seen meconium-stained fluid, neither the doctor nor I would have even considered attempting a vaginal birth.
The baby had an Apgar score of 10/10.
Seriously, thanks again for such a quick and thorough response.
