Robert Torres said:It's not that the show doesn't give you a decent, fun 20 minutes or that it isn't charming; it just didn't live up to the massive hype you guys built up. I expected it to absolutely wreck me based on how it was hyped...

I'm with him on this. If they were interesting enough to make me want to catch new episodes when they drop—and the only show I actually follow on TV is The Saga of Cholism, which is entering its eighth season with two more already greenlit—then they've done something.
Sure, the plot got a bit thin after season five and the constant cast changes don't help keep people hooked, but it still has its
moments ☕

You can always fall back on a marathon of Rambo. It’s that reliable, old-school kind of entertainment where, despite being surrounded by endless threats and constant setbacks, he somehow manages to pull off a last-minute rescue for the good guys.

Susan Kim2 said:The most ridiculous part of this whole thing was how they brought up Leica four different times during the episode, yet everyone keeps coming up with these wildly different excuses that don't even come close to the truth. 🤣
Leica cameras, seriously? wtf 🤣

Well, you’re probably going to laugh out loud at this one, though I suppose there is a certain level of wit to be found in the absurdity.

Or perhaps we later discover that while Dino and Ivezic were caught in the middle of all that chaos regarding their failure to show up on the road, they somehow managed to mention Tesla's Mexican heritage. 🤣

What Sid is getting at is actually the most important part of this whole thing; there isn't that typical sense of secondhand embarrassment you usually feel when watching American productions that try—and fail—to mimic what real life actually looks like.

I mean, watching Dina’s reaction when he finally realized Joe was just messing with him about being late was something else. The way he genuinely just told him to go jump in a lake 🙏

Yes, quite; it really does come down to that perennial divide between the North and the South, doesn't it? It's always one or the other, isn't it?

Robert Torres said:You guys hyped this project up so much that I actually had to go check it out after hearing about it for the first time today. It’s not terrible, but it definitely isn't the masterpiece you're making it out to be. Honestly, most of it is pretty predictable... couldn't even bring myself to laugh once.

Well, this series isn't really meant to be a belly laugh kind of show. I mean, sure, there are some great jokes—and some weaker ones, obviously—but the foundation is humor built in the vein of Jerry Seinfeld. It relies mostly on those everyday situations and reactions where we see ourselves or people we know reflected back, all presented through a sort of relaxed, "whatever" perspective on life. For me, that makes it the kind of material you can watch multiple times without the individual punchlines losing their edge. That's why it feels like such a breath of fresh air; aside from the scoundrel and Gruntovcan, I honestly can't think of another American series I'd want to revisit like this, yet I've already sat through every episode three times.

Plus, there is always something refreshing about watching actors who aren't constantly in your face.

That’s just pure salt, isn't it? It feels like a callback to Dina's retort at the Rotary Club—Sebastian... honestly, I’d almost be embarrassed to call it a cult classic at this point.

Let’s not go poisoning the sacred grounds of Prem.

Himalayan salts 🙏

Our first bit of witty commentary since that scoundrel left town.

So, would you guys actually go out and kill her, Patrick Martin?

If I may be so bold as to observe, it seems our friend Patrick Martin is perhaps getting on in years, given how he has spent his time branding the curves of certain ladies after various Bayer products.

It appears he might have been a bit too influenced by those flashy American television commercials.

The legendary showdown: Reddit vs. the old guard 🙏

We bled for this community, yet somehow, it feels like nobody gives a damn anymore. New trends are blowing in, the younger crowd is busy chasing nonsense, and most of them don't have the slightest clue about the battles we fought to build this place. In fact, half of them probably have accounts on both sides of the fence anyway.

As for us, our numbers are dwindling; we're all just slipping away, one by one, far sooner than anyone intended.

RIP Reddit.

It took me down a bit of a memory lane, or at least as far as Anderson’s eraser will allow. Good old 😢

Edit: and everything else from back then—those standalone threads for every El Clásico that pulled in hundreds of replies, the "huevo el podrido" chaos, and that Haxball chat thread 🙏 (those shady backdoor matches between local clubs and the national team 🙏 moki 🙏 the call for a Haxball charity event 😂).

Why even act surprised?

If the Democratic Party needed five more of those DNC-style losers to stay afloat, they’d surely find a way to manufacture them.
If I actually had twenty-five thousand and change fingers to work with, wouldn't you all want me to show them off right now?
Gentlemen, you’ve completely misread the situation; nobody is offering themselves up to anyone. You’re all being far too precious in your assumptions, aren't you? ☕
Fortunately, here on Reddit, we have a dedicated group of users who maintain order through the sheer, gentle strength of their intellectual depth, only resorting to verbal sparring when things truly escalate.

It’s exhausting work, certainly, but I find it ultimately worthwhile.

That said, I also have to align myself with my de facto fellow moderators; you wouldn't think anyone would bother saying thanks, ☕

I suppose I have to agree, given the current state of affairs; you'd certainly be considered a vital pillar of society. ☕

rapidstag2 said:brightpilot6, you went ahead and picked up that Sony TV for your folks—how is it actually performing for them? I’m currently scouting for a decent deal during Black Friday, but it looks like that specific model has been pulled from the shelves. Does anyone know what the modern equivalent would be?

It’s an excellent set. They couldn't be happier with it, and honestly, even I find the picture quality impressive whenever I'm watching something at their place.

I haven't a clue what the direct successor is; maybe some newer Sony from the 7 series? I usually dive into those specs right when I'm about to buy, but then I immediately stop paying attention to all the technical jargon.

That said, if you're looking within that particular price range, I don't think you can really go wrong. For us regular folks, the differences between models are mostly negligible, wouldn't you agree?

🤣

It’s split into four distinct personalities: there’s the small, normal one who just watches the Television, while the Liverpool FC and FC Barcelona fans end up carrying the weight of Juventus ☕
