Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
I haven't even touched my drivers yet, but I already spotted this discrepancy:

So, according to the startup info, I'm running DirectX 11.0, but then it says support is only for DirectX 9.0 C

Does that mean my GPU maxes out at DirectX 9 while I have 11 installed? Is there actually a connection here, or am I just overthinking it?

Do I need to wipe DirectX 11 and just install DirectX 9.0 C instead? And if so, how do I even do that?

Please, I need help ASAP. I've been losing my mind over this for days...

Just a quick question here. Which of these three should I just wipe out (all of them?)? Also, can you walk me through what else I might need to clear out of the Control Panel if I'm doing this?

Larry Ortiz5 said:Uninstall the NVIDIA driver. Look under "uninstall" in your programs list, find the driver, and wipe it out. Go to THIS PAGE TO DOWNLOAD NEW GRAPHICS CARD DRIVERS If you aren't sure which exact model you have, check

Option 2: Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products Once you've installed them, reboot your PC and then try launching the game.

I already tried that. I've got the .exe for the latest driver right here. My card is a geforce 7600 GS, and the newest driver is 307.83.

The thing is, when I checked, I already had that driver installed and my games still wouldn't run. So I just went to the NVIDIA site, grabbed the driver, and installed it again without deleting the old one first since it was the same version. Restarted the computer and—nothing. Same problem.

Would it actually help if I nuked the old driver before installing the new one? Or should I be messing with something in this control panel instead?

By the way, I can select specific installed games here, and it looks like something needs adjusting:

And they've got these general settings too:

Larry Ortiz5 said:Joshua Chavez28 It doesn't matter if it says Windows is updating; you can see that on pirated copies too.🙂 Anyway, whether your Windows is legit or cracked is irrelevant—the game should still run. You aren't gaining anything by installing 32-bit Windows.

So this exact same thing is happening with all ten games? Did you actually check if the cracks are working, or are they all originals? Also, when was the last time you actually cleaned the dust out of your PC?

I dusted my PC out five days ago. These aren't original games, but the same damn thing happens in almost every single one, usually at the same spot.

I just tried playing some stuff on Miniclip and it's the same story. It launches, I play for maybe 7 or 8 seconds, and then the whole thing just freezes dead. I can't move the mouse, and hitting Ctrl+Esc or Ctrl+Alt+Del does absolutely nothing. No error message pops up, no warning, nothing. Just silence.

I honestly have no clue what's going on. There's this green icon right by the clock that says
"NVIDIA continue." When I click it, this opens up:

It looks like it might be in another language, and I've never seen this on my computer until I installed Windows about 5 or 6 days ago. I have zero idea how to navigate this control panel, but it looks like there are settings in here that need adjusting or changing. Anyone got any advice?

Thanks.

Look, I’ve got a massive headache with PC gaming right now, and I'm pretty sure Windows is the culprit.

I'm running the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate. It seems legit since I actually see those annoying updates running when I shut down my rig.

I've tried about ten different games, and they all do the exact same thing: the game loads, starts up, and then—boom—it just freezes solid after maybe 7 or 8 seconds. I just sit there staring at a frozen screen until I have to hard reset the whole computer.

Every single time I right-click an icon on my taskbar, it gives me that "Run compatibility troubleshooter" option before I even launch anything. I've already tried running them as an admin and setting them to Windows XP compatibility mode, but nothing works. DirectX is installed and I'm on the latest graphics drivers.

Can anyone actually help me fix this, or am I looking at a total OS reinstall? Maybe I should switch to a 32-bit version?
