The only thing written on it is
Dell... plus some warnings. I took a photo, but I'm not quite sure how to upload images to the forum since I'm using an Android

Sorry Bryan Evans77, I missed that... Let me take another look right now because I’m really set on getting a GTX 460. It’s such a solid card, and considering the newer models are running around $1,400...$233

In that case, would it be better if I just went with the 5670?

I can try to snap a photo... but there isn't really anything written on it. I checked with Fixya regarding the power supply specs—the part mentioning a 305W max and a 400W peak—and they told me that while it handles 305W, hitting that 400W mark would probably fry it. If I just send over a picture, would you be able to tell what kind of power supply I actually have? There aren't any labels on this one. If it turns out mine isn't quite up to the task, I don't see much choice but to pick up that $200 one you mentioned, provided you think it's a solid bet.

Hold on a second... Does that mean my HD 5770 might actually work with this 400W power supply I've got?

So, listen, I’m looking to drop $233 on a new GPU. To be honest, my budget is pretty tight right now. What’s the best power supply I can grab to run an HD 5770 without blowing my budget? $50 I need something brand new—maybe a good deal on eBay or something similar. Thanks!
Also, just to clarify: if a card requires at least 450W, does that mean even the highest quality 350W unit won't cut it?

I'm looking at picking up an AMD Radeon 5770 for $233, and right now I'm running a 400W power supply..
To run this card, I assume I'll need at least a 450W unit, plus that specific 6-pin connector, right?
A buddy of mine from Chicago wants to sell me a CL - ATX500W model. He isn't quite sure if it actually has the 6-pin connector, but he's offering it for $27. If anyone could let me know if this power supply will be enough for the Radeon 5770, I'd really appreciate it.

A 400W power supply or higher is suggested (though you'll want at least 500W if you're running NVIDIA SLI in dual mode)
That's what the specs say..
One last question..
My power supply says "max 305W" on one part, but then mentions something about a 400W peak or whatever.. I'm honestly not sure which number is actually accurate..

Would the 5770 run fine on my current power supply?
GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
Aha... so it pulls power from both the PCIe slot and the PSU. That should be plenty of juice, right? What do you think?

If you're wondering about my power supply... honestly, it's probably some cheap junk. I opened it up and saw a label claiming a 305W max, plus maybe another 400W on the right side, though I'm not entirely sure what that actually means. Anyway, I found an amazing deal on a graphics card I'd love to grab, but then it hit me: my PSU just won't cut it.
I found this listing for a graphics card on Craigslist. It looks like a decent deal if you're looking to pick something up.

Does she not have some extra power supply component or something like that on her?

Personally, 512 MB is plenty for me. I don't really need a full gig given my resolution settings.

Alright..

I see what you mean... I was actually thinking about this...
New stock arrived... I picked up my current one here too... they sell them at a great price...

Thanks... I just really needed someone to clarify this because I can't find a straight answer online; everyone seems to say something different. My card supports DirectX 10.1, which is fine, but how big is the actual gap between that and DirectX 11? Thanks a million, you've made my life much easier 😁

I'm just curious how much of an upgrade this actually is compared to what I'm running right now..

I’ve been sitting here doing some research... but everyone keeps insisting that the Radeon HD 4770 is leagues ahead of what I have. I'm having a hard time deciding. Right now, I'm running a Radeon HD 4650, and honestly, games look perfectly fine on my 19-inch monitor. Even Dead Space 2 runs smoothly at max settings without any stuttering.
