Nasal Polyps in Health ·
So, back in July 2019, the FDA gave the green light to the first-ever biologic specifically for treating nasal polyps. We're talking about Dupixent. It’s an injectable treatment that’s available here in the States, and while it was originally known for tackling skin conditions, it’s now being used to manage both polyps and asthma. If you're struggling with nasal polyps—maybe you're facing the prospect of surgery, or perhaps you've already gone through the procedure only to have them come crawling right back—I really suggest reaching out to your ENT. You can get this medication if your hospital doctor recommends it, but without that referral, the price tag is... well, let's just say it's quite something! $3.25 (That’s two injections right there.) If you find yourself needing more answers, feel free to head over to the Dupixent (Dupilumab) Discussion Group on Facebook. From what I've gathered from folks who have been through it, some people actually see those polyps start to recede after just the very first shot—and that's when you finally get your sense of smell back!

It’s this biologic called Dupixent, which you can get here in the States via injection. It was originally known for tackling skin issues, but lately, they've been using it for both polyps and asthma too. Anyway, if you're struggling with nasal polyps—maybe you're looking at surgery, or perhaps you've already had the procedure and the polyps just keep coming back like uninvited guests—I’d really suggest chatting with your ENT. You can get it through a prescription from a hospital specialist, otherwise, the cost hits $3.25 (for 2 injections). If you want to dig deeper, there's a whole community on Meta in the Dupixent (Dupilumab) Discussion Group.
