Dealing with hemorrhoids
in Health ·
So here I am, sitting by my computer and typing away...
Why? Because these hemorrhoids are making it impossible to sit down—though honestly, that’s an improvement since before, I couldn't even walk without feeling the pain, you know?
In my case, they were such a painful, miserable side effect of giving birth. I had a natural delivery with a pretty big baby, and during the pushing stage, everything just... shifted out there. On top of that, I had to get stitches (an episiotomy), so it was basically a double whammy of discomfort.
I’m breastfeeding too, and for those first two days, I could barely manage it. It hurt so much I almost wanted to give up entirely because the pain was all I could think about!
They’ve shrunk a little bit now—I've been using cold water rinses and applying St. John's Wort oil—and I've been reading through the recommendations here for medications, but I'm terrified of taking pills since I'm nursing and have to be so careful.
Initially, they were about the size of a walnut (in the shell, obviously!), and after five days of using Faktu ointment, they actually got smaller, but then on the sixth day, I had this horrible allergic reaction—exactly like the side effects mentioned here—which was this unbearable itching, so I had to stop using it immediately.
Plus, I’ve been bleeding for 18 days now since the birth; I know that's normal, but it definitely doesn't help the situation when the pads keep irritating everything. And does anyone ever really talk about this? It feels like most women end up dealing with this in some capacity after having a baby, whether it's mild or severe. My labor was fast, but it feels like these troubles aren't going away anytime soon. Honestly, if it weren't for this, I wouldn't want to go through pregnancy again—you know, you expect the pregnancy itself to pass, but with this stuff, you have no idea when it will end or if it even will!
Can you guys recommend any good stool softeners? I can't seem to get things moving every single day—it's more like every second or third day, and when it finally happens, it's just brutal. I tried those Dulcolax tablets, but the label says not to take them for more than five days, and I'm scared of messing up my digestive system if I rely on them.
Please help...😢
