Oof, I totally get where you're coming from. I went through something pretty similar back in my high school days, though thankfully it wasn't quite as intense as what you're describing right now.
Honestly, this is 99% a mental game. The real question is how long you've been living with this feeling, whether your body has already adapted to it, and how much effort it’ll take to reset those habits.
You need to do something radical for yourself—something that pulls you out of the funk and gives you a massive boost in confidence. Go join a kickboxing gym, try skydiving, or head down to a local shooting range to practice target practice. Heck, go out there and show those middle school kids who's boss! 😁
(Okay, maybe skip the last part, but you get the vibe...)
Overcoming stuttering in Health ·
Amanda Martinez51 said:Even if I don't know the exact trigger, I can feel my face flushing red and my stomach starting to do flips whenever it happens.

Now, just imagine living with that since the day you were born... You’d definitely have a deeper understanding of what people go through when they are overcoming stuttering.
It might sound a little silly, but honestly? It’s not funny at all.

I'm currently sitting here just waiting on my liver biopsy results. The preliminary prognosis is NASH, and honestly, I'm secretly praying it isn't something even more serious. My ultrasound showed some diffuse lesions too.

I wanted to ask—can NASH actually cause things like a low-grade fever, dark circles under the eyes, and constant fatigue?
(I've been running a temperature of about 98.8 F every single afternoon, though it seems fine in the mornings and later at night)

thanks!

Carol Parker said:What exactly are you planning to bleed out, man? Honestly, this whole idea that just hitting "power" on your remote is enough to fix everything is honestly pretty ridiculous. I actually have an expert right here next to me who deals with this stuff for a living, so maybe try picking up a book or two? You clearly don't have the slightest clue how this works. 🙂

Well, since you’re such a genius, why don't you be a pal and explain it to me, oh wise one...
And hey, keep being that "well-read," keep staying inside, and please—don't ever even think about opening a window.

By the way, I've got Nikola Tesla right here with me. 🙂

Come on then, lay it on me! Tell us exactly why it’s so funny so we can all have a good laugh together...

So, look, I hadn't really thought about it that way, but you’re totally right—I'm with you on this one. Some TVs or monitors (like my Samsung) aren't actually silent when they're just sitting in standby mode. You can hear this super faint, high-pitched whining sound. Most people probably don't even notice it, but for me? Yeah, I definitely do. It drives me crazy, so I just shut the whole thing down completely at night. That’s honestly my only reason for doing it. The actual energy savings are pretty much peanuts, and honestly, you're putting more stress on the hardware by forcing it to boot up from a cold start instead of just waking it up from standby.

Whatever you do, please do not cover your TV with a cloth! It won’t do a single thing to block any potential radiation, and honestly, you're just asking for a house fire.

When it comes to radiation, look—of course there's some. Every electronic gadget in your house emits it.
I don't think it's anything particularly life-threatening, but I definitely suggest giving your room a good blast of fresh air before you hit the hay.

So, here's the plan: just turn off the TV (hitting the power button on the remote is plenty; you don't need to unplug the whole thing), crack a window wide open for about 10 minutes, and you're golden.

P.S. There used to be this old rule of thumb about keeping your distance from the screen—about five times the diagonal length of the TV. Based on that, you'd need a massive living room! 🙂

I'm assuming you aren't sleeping with your head practically touching a 72-inch screen anyway; if you were, I wouldn't take that risk either!

Angela Wright said:Hmm, I think I read somewhere that if your immune system takes a massive hit, the chickenpox virus can actually reactivate. Given that I've got this low-grade fever and some liver issues going on, it’s definitely a possibility.

That is such a great heads-up! Just what I needed to hear right now. 😎
Unfortunately, that sounds like a very real possibility. Since I'm already dealing with some liver stuff, it makes total sense that my immune system would be struggling.
As for how worried I should be? Honestly, who knows! I have an appointment with my gastroenterologist this Monday, so I'll definitely bring this up and see what they think.

Anyway, thanks so much for the info!

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have any clues about what might cause a tiny little bump like this to pop up under my eye?
As far as I know, I don't have any food allergies.
This is actually the second time this has happened; the first time was about two weeks ago, and it showed up right under my other eye.
It usually clears itself up within maybe 2 or 3 days.

To give you some more context, I've been dealing with some liver issues for about three months now—elevated enzymes and bilirubin—plus I had this weird, unexplained inflammation and pain right under my liver area. I went in for a colonoscopy, but everything looked totally fine down there. They did find a Campylobacter infection, though, so I’ve already finished a round of antibiotics.

I've attached a photo!

Thanks!

PS. Just to add, I’m running a bit of a low-grade fever right now, around 99°F. I think I felt this same way back when the first bump appeared on the other eye.
