Is it just me, or does the energy around the start of a new season always feel a bit manufactured? Every year, it’s the same cycle. The big names do the media rounds, everyone talks about "new eras" and "fresh starts," and the hype builds up until it's almost unbearable.

I remember back when I was a kid, following my local team, the excitement was much more organic. It was just about the hope of a new campaign. Nowadays, it feels like it's been polished by PR teams to make sure the momentum is high before a single whistle has even blown. It's hard to tell where the genuine optimism ends and the media circus begins.

I find myself getting more skeptical as I get older. I've learned the hard way that a lot of "big moves" or "ambitious plans" discussed in the summer don't always translate to results once the grind of the actual schedule starts.

Do you guys actually get swept up in the preseason buzz, or do you wait until the first few games are actually played before you let yourself feel anything?
