What's the best piece of life advice you've ever received?

Life throws all kinds of lessons at you... clean up after yourself, leave on time, don't pee in the sink.....what've you guys picked up?

Like, how to deal with toxic people...

Look, there’s an unwritten rule in this life: never spit in a man's face unless he’s already got a match lit under his mustache.

Anyway... on a totally different note... my wife has this ritual where she leaves a bottle of Lysol sitting in the toilet bowl before she goes to sleep, and then she insists on using the sink instead.
The secret, though—and I say this as someone who has dealt with this daily—is to just run the faucet first before you even think about peeing.
That way, you don't end up with a soggy mess in the porcelain, and more importantly, the whole bathroom doesn't smell like a swamp.

Alright, here are two of mine:
1. You never know who’s running with who.

2. You gotta open your mouth at the dentist.

Even within your own inner circle, I guess there’s always someone who just can't help but pass along a secret you shared in confidence. It feels like you really can't fully trust anyone because people are just naturally such gossips!

Totally agree. Had this coworker I actually trusted, then they went and trashed me to my boss at the first opportunity. And man, she was a total nightmare...

It isn’t enough to just show up; what truly matters is coming out on top.
