I’m a bit socially awkward—I often struggle to wrap my head around these kinds of unspoken social norms—so I figured I’d just ask: is it actually customary to offer congratulations when someone has a baby?

My cousin Smith just had a new baby; would this be an appropriate moment to send over a quick congratulatory message via WhatsApp?

So, Smith just had a new baby—congrats to him, I guess—and I was wondering, is this actually the right move, or should I just send a quick congratulatory note over WhatsApp?

Honestly, you could take that personally—though I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised—but it might be better to just play it safe and skip sending a card altogether. Why bother risking a total meltdown of the relationship over something so trivial? It's just not worth the headache.

Honestly, you’re better off just blocking the number entirely—save yourself the headache before some drunk idiot starts blowing up your phone with those nauseatingly sweet, overly sentimental holiday messages. 👍

Of course. In my view, bringing a healthy child into this world is a far greater achievement than getting married. To me, successfully raising a healthy child ranks right up there with graduating from college and finally holding that diploma in your hand... 🙂 🥳

Don't go trolling the guy—we might actually end up calling him to offer our congratulations later. 🕺

I don't see what the issue is with offering congratulations. 🤔 🤷

What does he mean, a new child?
Did he sell an "old" one? Or does he actually have two now...
🤔

John Doe, I just had to... :trol:
