And this right here is Russell vs Perez.
It’s pretty clear when you look at the moment of contact just how much room Sebastian Vettel actually had on his left compared to how little Sergio Perez had.

Let's look at how these two situations actually stack up against each other:

At the exact moment they made contact, just look at the amount of room Sebastian Vettel had on his left versus what Sergio Perez had.

Personally, I don't see any reason to hand out a penalty here.

You really nailed that presentation for us. Seriously, props to you! 👍

Look, I’m going to be blunt with you here: your eyesight is practically non-existent. You're hovering right on the edge of being blind. 👍

I posted a screenshot right at the point of initial contact, and you can clearly see they were both in the exact same spot. Now you're trying to push the argument further down the line when the contact was already well over, especially considering what happened immediately after—they just spun straight into the gravel.

In both scenarios, the cars are in the exact same spot. At the moment the contact starts, and again once they spin off, both drivers end up in practically the identical position.
At these speeds, you cover massive ground in just a split second. If you're looking at static screenshots, the gap between when contact starts and when it ends looks huge, but the actual elapsed time is basically nothing.

Honestly, we might as well start pulling out the measuring tapes to see exactly where everyone was positioned. It’s obvious that since Tibi is such a massive Sebastian Vettel fanboy, he gets treated differently than everyone else. Is it just me, or is that actually happening? Yes or no?

I uploaded the screenshot at the exact moment of contact, not a second later. It’s right there at the impact.

Do you want me to upload a screenshot from a moment before the contact? If that’s what it takes to make your argument work. 🤣

I just went back and reviewed both situations.

But honestly, since you told another guy on this forum that he's practically blind, I went ahead and reported your post.

That screenshot of yours has nothing to do with the actual incident. But I guess it matters to you, for whatever your own personal reasons might be.

Well, I suppose this might just be your version of that moment of initial contact when you're looking at it from the outside, 🤣🤣

Honestly, Sebastian Vettel was right on the edge of the track🤣, practically driving through the gravel, man.🍿

It’s not just that you're wearing rose-colored fanboy glasses; your eyesight is borderline non-existent at this point.

Your screenshot is basically this. I see that Bolaji posted the same thing.

No matter which frame you freeze on or where you look, the cars are in the exact same spot. You guys can try to manipulate my screenshots all you want, fine. I know exactly when I braked. Just a millisecond after my screenshot, the front wings of Pierre Gasly and George Russell dive right under the wheels.

Both of them get a penalty, period. I'm done with this idiocy. There's no point arguing with Tibi and his pink Fetl glasses anyway.

No matter what moment you freeze, no matter where you measure the distance, the cars are in the exact same spots. Why are you guys trying to claim I'm trying to manipulate my screenshots? Fine, have it your way. I know exactly when I paused. A millisecond after my screenshot, the front wings of Pierre Gasly and George Russell dive right under those wheels.

They both deserve a penalty, period. I'm done with this nonsense, and honestly, arguing with Tibi and his ridiculous pink Fetl glasses is a waste of time anyway.

Manipulate?

You posted a screenshot that doesn't even prove your point, and then you turn around and accuse us of manipulation. You're comparing their positions as they enter the corner, but the contact actually happened as they were exiting it.

Meh. Well, if Tibi is rocking pink glasses, then I suppose you might as well be carrying a white cane and walking a guide dog. In my humble opinion, Russell vs Perez was just a racing incident, whereas in the case of Vettel vs Gasly, Gasly is clearly at fault here. If you take a moment to watch the onboard footage for both incidents, you can see exactly how Russell handles the steering wheel compared to what Gasly does.

image

Right before the contact happens, it looks like Gasly lost his line and the steering wheel basically slipped right out of his hands.

Just take a look at how Russell manages his wheel.

Right, because obviously Sebastian Vettel is at fault. He was all the way to the left, right up against the curb. But sure, his mistake was not being on the curb—who cares if Pierre Gasly had five car widths of space on the right?

Even Perez was way off to the left when he got hit by that tire. This looks like blatant manipulation to me.

Pierre Gasly and George Russell are essentially to blame here, aren't they? They saw another car overtaking them on the outside and realized there was plenty of room on the right side of the track to simply let it happen, yet they chose instead to aggressively attack the corner, effectively forcing the drivers on their outside line into a terrible position. In my view, both penalties are perfectly justified and crystal clear.

Seriously, Sebastian Vettel was practically off the track🤣, almost driving on pure gravel, damn it.🍿

You aren't just wearing rose-colored fanboy glasses; your prescription is basically zero at this point.

Like I already said...

Exactly...
They could have easily let the Russell situation slide as a racing incident...
especially considering it was right at the start, total chaos everywhere, and honestly, Sergio Perez had way more room than Russell to avoid the contact. Just saying.
The Gasly one is a much harder sell, though. There weren't even other cars nearby. Gasly knew damn well Sebastian Vettel was there, and Vettel didn't exactly have much room to dodge him...

But look, the penalties themselves are a joke in both cases; they shouldn't have even handed them out.
Because realistically, if the penalty for forcing someone off the track is basically nothing when the race is only 5 seconds long,
then it’s smarter for Charles Leclerc or Max Verstappen to just shove people off the track from now on rather than actually racing normally and leaving space...

In my opinion, the clash between Russell and Perez was just a racing incident. It's a matter of perspective; just as Russell had the option to go right, Perez had the opening on the left.

If you look closer at the physics of the move, it’s actually easier for Perez to open up the corner than it is for Russell to dive left.
Besides, Perez doesn't sacrifice much speed by widening his line, whereas Russell loses quite a bit if he tries to dodge him. From what I saw, I don't think Russell was being aggressive or specifically targeting Perez. It felt more like he was looking out for himself—basically thinking, "Look, you're overtaking me, but I'm not going to wreck my entire racing line just to accommodate you."

By the way, Lewis Hamilton needs to be just as much of a rebel during the press conferences too. He’s constantly getting hassled by those Max Verstappen fans waving smoke flares in his face 🙂. At one point, he even went as far as questioning how much damage all that smoke was actually doing to the environment 🙂
.
Max Verstappen: It was obvious
.
Charles Leclerc: It was obvious
.
Lewis Hamilton: I didn't see anything at Turn 6 🤣.

Look, sure, they were smoking way too much during the formation lap, but once the race actually started, things cleared right up.

Why on earth did they throw out a VSC just because Carlos Sainz's engine gave up? He pulled off quite a distance from the track—he wasn't putting anyone in danger at all. Honestly, it feels like this season they are just itching to trigger a VSC or a Safety Car for every little thing that happens.

There was a recovery vehicle clearing a car out of the runoff area. Honestly, I’m a bit surprised they didn't throw a full Virtual Safety Car out for that.
