It took me forever to actually wrap my head around what was happening to me. Honestly—I’ve burned through about $12k on specialists, immunologists, endocrinologists, you name it.

My symptoms:
Severe anxiety
Muscle twitching (fasciculations)
Pins and needles in my limbs
Eye floaters
Brain fog/poor concentration
Muscle and joint pain
Fibromyalgia-style symptoms

Medical history:
Brain MRI showed white matter lesions—doctors aren't even sure what caused them.
Polyneuropathy, benign fasciculation syndrome, and a Vitamin D deficiency.

ANA, a-ccp, and rheumatoid factor all came back negative. Western blot for Lyme was also negative.

The symptoms really kicked into high gear right around the time I had my old, crusty, worn-out amalgam fillings swapped out for new ones—also amalgams (6 total). Not once did my dentist warn me that those fillings are basically 50% mercury.
The whole drilling process just releases mercury vapor into your lungs—that's what happens when a standard dentist does it instead of a specialized biological dentist.

I was spiraling, worrying about everything from MS to Lyme disease, until things finally "clicked"—plus, I've had this weird metallic taste in my mouth for ages.
Once it clicked, I did some deep diving on Reddit and realized a ton of other people have had that exact same realization.

A month ago, I finally got those amalgams replaced with white composite ones (5 composites and one ceramic).

The detox process is different for everyone—usually takes about 2 to 5 months.

Here’s what I’m using:
NOW Foods NAC with Selenium
KAL Selenium 100mcg (L-selenomethionine)
NOW ADAM Men's Multivitamin
Olimp Omega-3 with D3K2-MK7 and Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol).

I’m currently one month into the process.
I take NAC five times a week (ideally starting on a Monday). It's a precursor to glutathione—which is basically the body's strongest antioxidant. A major cofactor to help it absorb faster is also a strong oxidant: Selenium in its organic methionine form.
ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) is also great, but honestly, NAC + Selenium feels like the gold standard.

I’m also on Zoloft and Lyrica for the anxiety and neurological stuff.

Hoping for some visible improvement soon—things have to get better.

I’d love to hear about anyone else's experience, and I really hope this helps someone else out too.
Also, if you can, I highly recommend getting that triple test (blood, urine, and hair) to check for heavy metals.

Mods, please don't pull this thread—this isn't "alternative medicine," this is serious business.

Unfortunately, here in the States, the use of amalgam won't be completely phased out until way down the road.
In more progressive parts of the United Nations/Europe, amalgam was pretty much banned years ago.
If you look on YouTube, there are plenty of interviews with doctors discussing how harmful amalgam is, along with videos showing mercury levels in dental offices.

By the way, I'm absolutely not saying that someone with just one silver filling is definitely off-gassing enough mercury to be in danger compared to someone with many. Some people are just way more sensitive to mercury than others, or even allergic to it.
Using multivitamin complexes with various antioxidants can also help pull mercury out, depending on the strength.
Just whatever you do, don't start taking NAC until *after* the fillings are replaced.

Ask your own dentists or neurologists if they have any amalgam fillings left—you'll hear what they tell you. If mercury in amalgam wasn't harmful, why don't they use those cheap, toxic fillings themselves?

Thanks.

Replacing just one filling is a massive headache, let alone trying to swap out a whole bunch of them. You've got those amalgam vapors drifting straight into your brain, not to mention you end up swallowing some of it during the actual procedure. It’s honestly pathetic how little most dentists here in the States actually know about the proper protocols before and after this kind of work. I remember asking mine about it, and they just gave me this blank, confused stare. The reality? People end up with serious toxicity issues that are a total nightmare to fix.
I wouldn't recommend getting amalgam fillings put in if I had any say in the matter. Even trying to fix them later is a complicated mess and potentially super risky.

The end result is serious toxicity that is incredibly hard to fix.
I wouldn't recommend getting amalgam fillings in the first place. Even fixing them is a complicated mess—potentially super risky.

Hey there!
Yeah, I'm with you on all counts.
I took the plunge myself because I was desperate—dealing with all these symptoms that everyone else insisted were "just in my head."

Turns out, I made the right call, because 40 days later, I'm feeling way better. The brain fog is totally gone, and those neurological issues and muscle twitches have calmed down significantly.

Right now, I'm taking NAC with selenium and mobilization, NOW ADAM multivitamins with alpha lipoic acid and CoQ10, plus a really high-quality Omega-3.

Just ordered the highest quality chlorella I could find.

Anyone here actually used chlorella before? Looking for some real feedback.

Purge heavy metals from your system
Sourced from Taiwan and Japan, chlorella is packed with proteins, amino acids, vitamins B, C, and E, beta-carotene, minerals like potassium, phosphorus, biotin, and magnesium, plus chlorophyll.

It’s especially famous for its detox properties—basically, if you want to flush heavy metals and toxins out of your body, chlorella is the top choice. People use it specifically to clear out accumulated mercury.

The deal is, chlorella has these phytonutrients that bind to toxins and heavy metals, dragging them out of your system. A study done at a major university in Russia showed that chlorella doesn't just pull toxins out—it also helps reduce tissue damage caused by heavy metal poisoning.

Having heavy metals sitting in your body is linked to all kinds of health issues. Research out of Japan has even shown that cancer cells often contain mercury, which is a heavy metal. Plus, studies have confirmed that heavy metal buildup is tied to things like Alzheimer's and dementia.

So, the final verdict is finally in. Got my lab results back from Saturday regarding EBV and heavy metals.
Mercury and lead levels are pushing the limit, but not quite enough to be a massive deal.

Turns out I'm positive for both EBV and CMV—antibody levels are pretty high.
Between my enlarged spleen and lymph nodes that have been swollen for years, plus this constant chronic fatigue, everything points to this.

I spoke with an immunologist at the clinic, and they mentioned that for some people, extreme stress can reactivate this virus, which then drags on for years and manifests as fibromyalgia.
They suggested I stick to multivitamins and milk thistle tea. Honestly, garlic and milk thistle are basically nature's version of NAC glutathione. And, obviously, zero stress and as much rest as possible.

Now, I might be wrong about the mercury part, but I’ve been taking NAC for a month now, so maybe that brought the levels down? To be honest though, I suspect when I was moving, mercury was the only thing that slipped through—if I hadn't been on NAC, I probably would've been in real trouble.

Here is the protocol for EBV that’s supposed to help calm the virus down.

The only thing I picked up was some fresh liposomal Vitamin C from Dr. Mercola—1000mg, 60 capsules$107.

I’m running a four-step detox protocol right now—you can actually tell it's working by the smell of your urine.
I finally feel amazing!

1. Alpha Lipoic Acid—specifically the R-ALA form. I take it alongside an NAC booster to kickstart glutathione, which is basically the king of antioxidants.
I'm doing 200mg of R-ALA.

2. Niacin (nicotinic acid). This is Vitamin B3 with the flush. It’s huge—so many benefits—but about 20 minutes after you take it, you literally turn into Hellboy from the flushing sensation. It lasts maybe 15 minutes.
The best way to do it is to start at 100mg, then bump it up by 50 or 100 every single day. For me, 500mg is the sweet spot.

3. Once that flush kicks in, I take 6 tablets (3g) of spirulina.
The niacin opens up your blood vessels and cells to flush out all those toxins and heavy metals, and then the spirulina (or chlorella) acts like a binder to grab them. I went with spirulina because I think it just has more overall benefits.

4. Finally, about half an hour later, I hit the Zeolite (clinoptilolite). That’s the finishing move to get everything—all those toxins and heavy metals—out through your urine.
Zeolite is the only thing that actually works; everything else is just snake oil.
Look for micronized zeolite with tiny particle sizes (0.32 - 1.36 um) and 3x TMA (tribo-mechanically activated).

While the flush is happening and I've popped the spirulina, I jump into a brutal 40-minute HIIT session on the Air Bike and hit some weights. You want to sweat as much as possible, and with the niacin, you’re basically sweating buckets.
If you can't work out, a sauna is the next best thing.

Here is the protocol that 100% works!🙏

What you’re saying about mercury poisoning from dental amalgams is, if I'm being honest, 😁way😁too extreme. If you really want to see what we're talking about, I'd suggest taking a trip out to Leadville.
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/travel/article/leadville-colorado-mining-history
https://www.visitcolorado.com/places-to-go/leadville

Leadville was actually home to one of the most significant mining operations in the country for quite a while.
https://www.nps.gov/places/leadville.htm

For generations, families lived and breathed that life, working deep within those mines. You can get a real, unfiltered look at how people actually interacted with mercury by visiting the site itself, and I honestly think it’s worth the trip. It’s an easy day trip, and the whole area has a lot of character.

If anyone was ever truly dealing with mercury overdose, it was the miners back in Leadville.
Those guys were often starting work as kids, spending their entire lives surrounded by mercury. They were pulling ten to twelve-hour shifts nearly every single day... so when you compare that level of exposure to just having some old fillings in your mouth, can you really see how much of an exaggeration this is?

It’s a bit like claiming you’ve been poisoned by football just because you sat through a Champions League semifinal. 😁

brightviper29 said:What you’re saying about... I’m telling you—we really need to talk more about mercury poisoning from dental amalgams. It's one of those things people just gloss over, but it's actually pretty heavy stuff. Honestly, it feels like everyone just accepts having these little chunks of metal in their mouths without a second thought, but when you look at the science behind it, it's a different story entirely. I truly believe we should be way more cautious about what we're letting sit in our bodies for decades. Let's be real about this—is it actually doable?😁I'm ready to get to work. Just send over the text you need me to overhaul, and I'll handle the rest—keeping the voice steady, swapping out all those references for US equivalents, and making sure everything sounds like it was written by an American from scratch. Standing by.😁That's way over the top. Honestly, if you really want to get away, I’d suggest just taking a trip out to Leadville instead.
Planning a quick getaway to Canada this weekend? Honestly, if you’re looking for a change of pace without hopping on a massive flight, this is the move. It’s right there—just a short drive away—and it feels like stepping into a completely different world. The whole vibe is just incredibly chill. You’ve got those stunning Alpine landscapes that make you feel like you’re living in a postcard, and the lakes? Man, they’re unreal. I’m talking Lake Bled levels of beauty where you can actually sit, breathe, and forget about the grind for a second. It’s the perfect spot if you want to hit some hiking trails or just wander through some old-school European towns that feel way more intimate than anything you'll find in a major US city. If you're heading out, my advice is to keep it simple. Don't overthink the itinerary—just pick a base, rent a car, and let the scenery do most of the work. Whether you're into mountain air or just want to grab a decent meal in a cozy little village, it's a solid choice for a quick reset. Definitely worth the trip if you need to clear your head.
So, I was just looking at this trip idea to check out some geological wonders and visit the little town of Leadville—honestly, sounds like a pretty solid weekend getaway if you're into that kind of thing. It’s one of those trips where you get to wander through some incredible landscapes and then hit up a historic mountain town to see how people used to live back in the day. The whole vibe is basically about getting out of the city and actually seeing some cool rock formations and natural stuff up close. Plus, wandering around a place like Leadville—which has that classic, rugged American feel—is always a win. You get the nature fix, you get the history fix, and you don't have to deal with too much chaos. Definitely worth keeping on the radar if you need a break from the grind.

For centuries, Leadville was home to one of the biggest mercury mines on the planet.
I was checking out some history regarding Antonijev Rov—it’s basically that old mining site over near Leadville—and man, it really puts things into perspective. You look at how much work went into those tunnels and realize just how gritty life was back then. It wasn't just about digging holes; it was an entire way of life centered around the industry that built the region. Honestly, seeing the scale of those operations makes you appreciate how far we've come, even if modern tech feels a bit sanitized compared to that raw, old-school grit. Just one of those places that stays on your mind once you realize what people actually went through to make it happen.

Generations upon generations of people have spent their lives working deep inside that mercury mine. If you really want to wrap your head around what that constant exposure to mercury actually looked like for a real person—it’s something you just have to see for yourself at the mine. I can't recommend the visit enough. You could easily turn it into a quick day trip, too—Leadville and the surrounding areas are pretty cool to check out.

If anyone ever truly overdosed on mercury, it was the miners back in Leadville.
Miners used to start working when they were basically kids—just little guys thrown straight into environments saturated with mercury for their entire lives. We're talking ten to twelve-hour shifts every single day, with Sunday being the only break. So, just think about that for a second—now try to wrap your head around the idea of getting poisoned by dental fillings that actually contain mercury. It’s wild.

That’s basically like saying you got food poisoning just because you sat through the Champions League semifinals. 😁

Look, I'm telling you—the hair analysis tests don't lie. Period.
