I guess the Falcons are back on my radar. Maybe they have a chance this year, maybe they don't. It’s hard to tell with these things. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out.
Maybe the Browns have a chance. I don't know. It's hard to say much given how things usually go.
The Cowboys. I guess we should talk about them. Maybe there's something to say, though I'm not sure if anyone actually wants to hear it. It’s the same old story, isn't it? Just when you think they might actually pull it together, things fall apart. It's almost predictable at this point. Typical.
I guess I'm looking at the 49ers again. Maybe they have a shot, maybe they don't. It's hard to say for sure with how things usually go.
The Buffalo Bills. I guess we're talking about them now. Maybe they'll actually pull it off this year, or maybe they'll just find another way to let everyone down. It’s hard to say. Everything feels a bit uncertain lately.
Maybe the Rams have a shot. I guess it depends on how you look at it. Things aren't exactly looking bright, but who knows? Maybe.

Look, since @stipest was right under me in the rankings while we were calling this week's action, it looks to me like he actually landed 5 correct picks. Based on the previous standings, I think he should have one more point on his total... if I've miscalculated, my apologies.

I guess you skipped over putting me in the "table" 🙂

You both are correct. Stipest was already accurately recorded under 42, but he was mistakenly entered again under 41 instead of William Sullivan. Everyone makes mistakes. It will be fine next week. 👍

cosmicgull52 said:You both make valid points. Stipest was already correctly logged under 42, but then he was accidentally entered under 41 again instead of William Sullivan. Look, even the best of us slip up when we're working. It’ll all be sorted out by next week. 👍

To be honest, I didn't even notice the entry under 42...👍

No beam 😁👍

Wouldn't it be far more realistic to calculate shots
based on the total number of cars we actually put on the track 😳
since we didn't all line up at the starting gate together 🙂
In fact, it would be more akin to how they handle things in the Super Bowl LIV, much like the Yardbirds
tracking attempts through 4.7, 4.5, 4.1, 3.8, 0.9... 😁

Based on how many rounds we've actually played. 😳
I mean, didn't we all jump in at the exact same time? 🙂
It’d also be kind of like... the Super Bowl LIV, like the 49ers.
Attempt #1: 4.7, attempt #2: 4.5, attempt #3: 4.1, attempt #4: 3.8... and now we’re sitting at a pathetic 0.9. Total faceplant. 😁

You gotta reward the ones who actually put in the work. Personally? I think the winner should be whoever nails five in a row—or even hits that Super Bowl LIV miracle—and then just walks away. Done. Simple as that. 😁

wearywolf49 said:You have to find a way to reward the people who actually stay consistent. According to your logic, the winner would just be some guy who nails five picks or even hits the Super Bowl right out of the gate and then immediately quits. That’s not how this works.😁

Oh, please... you know how the NFL works.
Take the most accurate QB, for instance—we look at a minimum of 20 attempts to see real results.
But fine... I'll stop being so pedantic... the main thing is just getting involved.🙂
🙂

I could potentially pull some casual statistics together at the end. 😁 But let’s just start fresh next season from week one!

Like, even the most accurate QB needs at least 20 attempts to matter.
But fine... I'll chill. Just gotta stay in the game. 🙂
🙂

😁

Aha, okay. So at the end of the season, you just take the total points and divide by games played to find the actual winner by NFL standards—as long as they played at least 9 games. 😁

Look, this is a marathon, not a sprint. We've got 17 rounds ahead of us, and every single one counts...

cosmicgull52 said:I suppose I could end up pulling some casual statistics like that at the finish line. 😁 But let’s be real—we need to hit the ground running starting with Week 1 next season!

If I were to actually join this forum... 😳 I wasn't even running late this time, so there's no excuse for that.
I honestly feel quite embarrassed that I haven't contributed anything to this forum until now. It is frankly a bit shameful that I have remained silent for this long.

wearywolf49 said:Fine, let’s get this straight: if you want to identify the actual winner by legitimate NFL standards at the end of the season, you have to take the total points scored and divide them by the number of games played. It’s basic math, really. But there's a catch—to prevent some fluke performance from skewing the data, a player needs to have played a minimum of nine games to be considered valid. Anything else is just noise. 😁

I don't even know where to begin with this nonsense. It’s absolute chaos. 🙂
We need to aim for something exactly like this for the upcoming season!
The 2021 season was an absolute gauntlet, and looking back at the data from Pro Football Reference, it’s clear that anyone claiming it was a "standard" year hasn't been paying attention to the numbers. It was a chaotic, unpredictable mess that defied most conventional logic. If you look at the sheer volatility of the standings, it reminds me of a high-stakes game of poker where the house keeps changing the rules mid-hand. You had teams that looked like championship contenders in September suddenly collapsing under their own weight by December, while bottom-feeders clawed their way into playoff contention through pure grit and defensive attrition. It wasn't just about talent; it was about who could survive the inevitable onslaught of injuries and scheduling nightmares. For those who pride themselves on being "experts," this year should have been a humbling experience. The statistical outliers were everywhere. To suggest that one could simply look at preseason projections and accurately predict the landscape of the NFL in 2021 is nothing short of delusional. It was a season defined by chaos, resilience, and the constant shattering of expectations.
It’s perfectly clear, concise, and straightforward. Either we step up and take part, or we decline entirely. There is no middle ground here. 🙂

I remember, of course. 😬

I honestly believe I’ve reached the point where I should just start losing on purpose.
I am going to secure a much better draft position next season. 🤷
😵😁
