Grace Anderson3 said:Hey everyone, wishing you all an amazing New Year.

Meeting the new grandparents went fine. We just ignored some of Grandpa's comments, so it was alright.
But the drive home? Total disaster. We missed our exit and ended up stuck in a massive traffic jam just five minutes from the house. The line of cars was endless. Minutes were ticking by, and luckily Baby was still asleep. Then a police car tried to weave through the gridlock, its lights flashing, and that woke Baby right up. He started crying, I gave him a bottle, but he wasn't having it and just kept screaming. Traffic wouldn't budge an inch. Hans pulled the car onto the grass, so I’m out there unbuckling Baby from his seat to nurse him. Finally, the cars start moving again, and of course, people are honking at us through their windows because we're standing on the side of the road. 🙂

What was that about Hail and a hand in the air?🤔

If they’re that desperate to stare at boobs, they can just head down to the beach or hit up a sauna once it starts heating up.

All the best to Grace Anderson3. 🙂
Well, glad to hear everything went smoothly with Hans Sr.

Thanks. 🙂

Typical. He just couldn't keep his middle finger to himself. ☕

Today’s been a pretty good day... Baby is hanging out with Hans, listening to this long story about a squirrel that traveled the globe and met a tiger who’s now teaching it how to speak Tiger... Hopefully, the little guy falls asleep soon while listening to it..☕

😁 👍
Way to go, Hans.
Do you actually talk to the baby in English?

Nice one, Hans.
Do you actually speak to the baby in American?

When it's just us, I stick to American. My doctor actually told me that everyone should speak to their child in their native language so they pick up both "mommy" and "daddy" versions with proper grammar. It worked perfectly for my friend—her kid switches to German when she's around and jumps straight to English when talking to his American dad.

Grace Anderson3 said:Whenever I’ve had him all to myself, I make sure we stick to American. I actually got some advice from my pediatrician's office once—they suggested parents should speak to their child in their native language so they can pick up both "Mommy's language" and "Daddy's language" with proper grammar. It worked wonders for a friend of mine; her kid learned to switch effortlessly, speaking German when she was around and English when talking to his American dad.

I've heard that same advice before, and honestly, it really just comes down to being consistent.

So how are we supposed to type here then? In German or American? 🤔

Either works...

Because anyone who knows nothing, yet knows that they know nothing, actually knows more than the guy who knows nothing and doesn't even realize it!

Thank God for Google, honestly. It’s been my absolute lifesaver ever since I moved to the States. 😁

I watched this movie when I was just a little kid, and man, it absolutely terrified me...

I still remember watching that movie; honestly, I was pretty terrified myself, and looking back, I really don't think kids should be watching stuff like that right before they head to bed.😱

Dog, poor little Baby... he’s got to learn two languages? He's going to end up completely muddled. 🥱

Baby will figure it out... Hans might actually be in trouble if the little one starts a sentence in German and decides to finish it in American. 🤔

No way, he’ll master both perfectly, so there's really nothing to worry about.🙂
