Budget coffee chat... first cup's on the house!

That’s exactly how it feels. My neighbor, who shares a backyard with me, basically treats my cats like they're her own children—she knows every single detail about their lives.
I usually just sit there nodding along while she gives me this exhaustive lecture on exactly how to fix some random feline ailment.

Anyway, I've got some rain and a little bit of wind over here today. Quick question though—is it okay to post pictures of my coffee in this thread, or is that considered way too much?

And honestly, 🙂 if you can't grab a coffee at a local cafe, then I really don't know where else you're supposed to go. 😵

loneridge6 isn't really making a big deal out of anything. At least they didn't lose a fortune, right? Besides, listening to those lectures is actually somewhat educational, I suppose.
It reminds me of how things used to be back home in the States. My grandparents would take us on these little excursions, and they’d somehow charm us into buying stuff that was probably worth maybe twenty bucks, yet they’d happily drop two or three hundred dollars on it. We're talking things like basic coffee grinders or just standard mattresses. That whole business model absolutely exploded across the country for about a decade.

Back in my day growing up in the States, I remember how grandparents would take kids on these little trips just to trick them into buying junk. They'd convince them to drop two or three hundred bucks on some cheap coffee grinder or a basic mattress that was worth maybe ten bucks. That kind of scam was huge across the Midwest for like ten years straight...

I know the drill. Used to see that stuff all over Germany—the whole Butterfahrt thing.

I honestly had no idea they did that in Germany too.
It turns out they can be just as naive as anyone else.
It’s wild. My mother-in-law was telling me about this one day trip she took once.
They were promised they'd spend the whole day swimming at some nearby spa resort.
But in the end, there was zero swimming. They just wandered around the grounds and had lunch. All that, though, because they were forced to sit through three hours
of lectures on how supposedly amazing some miracle cream was :rolleyess: And, of course, they ended up being pressured into buying the stuff at astronomical prices.
It was one of those "buy two, get one free" deals, where the first two cost more than a luxury steak dinner in Manhattan.🤦

Not much going on at home, actually this is just how it's been.
A bit of time at the beach, then back home, then back to the coast again. After that, I'll be traveling through Canada, Mexico, and Mexico until the 28th when I head back to work. 🐔

Around here, we kind of use his name as a bit of a label for someone who just can't seem to stay in one spot and is constantly on the move.
