Given that the first installment was actually the highest earner in the entire DC Extended Universe—hardly a shock—it makes sense that James Wan is returning to the director's chair. Despite the online noise regarding Amber Heard and calls for a boycott, she’s still set to reprise her role as Mera. We don't have much in the way of plot details yet, though some insiders are hinting at a tone that might be a bit more serious than its predecessor.

It’s kind of a rush, I guess, when you finally get to vent all that bile at someone after dealing with the absolute misery of paying bills. Like, honestly, how does anyone have the nerve to just sit there and enjoy themselves while I'm over here struggling through real life

So what, is having a different opinion officially banned now whenever we start talking about "superheroes"?

The movie isn't even out yet, there isn't even a trailer, and he's already talking absolute trash about it.
Maybe once he actually watches it, he can check back in.

Because of this, I’ll definitely be heading to the local theater in Columbus to catch it, which is a nice change from the first one... it's not a huge deal, but it makes me happy.

Honestly now, we’ve given a pass to so many male actors in the past, and let’s be real, we still watch some of their movies today despite what kind of people they were behind the scenes.

She’s clearly a total nightmare, but if we could overlook guys who were just as bad, then whatever.

For me, all that matters is she looked great as Mera. She was hot, wasn't annoying, and actually had a few decent moments.

They didn't even mess with her hair color or anything else, so honestly, that's already a pretty solid win.

What really sticks out is how for the exact same thing (actually, in her case, it’s even worse since he didn't even touch her like that) he lost his job and his entire career was trashed, while she—well, being the owner of her own body—faced zero consequences. Plus, by default, the public jumped straight to her side, and it probably would have stayed that way if Depp hadn't uncovered the evidence showing who the actual abuser was. Thanks, toxic feminism.

Usually, in cases like this—well, I suppose you could say it's just two mismatched pieces being forced together—it’s nothing more than a quick fix, a band-aid solution, or maybe just trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. The movie is going to be absolute garbage regardless, just like the first one, so I seriously doubt there will even be any reason to bother with a boycott.

I suppose it isn't entirely without merit. 🙂
