General Motors NASCAR suit?

NASCAR experts, quick question. Does this suit, helmet, and sneakers actually have anything to do with NASCAR? I picked this gear up from General Motors over in Detroit.

That’s the only way we can confirm if it’s an actual Ferrari suit from the 2002-2004 era.

Look, if the strap says Lewis Hamilton, you’re looking at a suit worth maybe $20k
If it says Michael Schumacher, it's a solid $10k
If it says Scott Speed, it's more like $5k

If there's no name? That means some random mechanic wore it—so the suit is basically worth $33

If you're talking about that Velcro waist strap, there isn't any branding on it. I wasn't under the impression this belonged to some NASCAR driver or anything; if it were, I definitely wouldn't have ended up with it. 😁

So, we're looking at a Ferrari suit, plus the helmet and sneakers... does the whole set really only go for a few hundred bucks? Like, everything together for maybe $75?

Or should I just list it for a higher price and hope a die-hard NASCAR collector happens to stumble upon it?

It's worth way more than $33. Just go hit up Amazon and compare for yourself.

That was just some mechanic's junk—totally worthless

The suit $33, the boots $33, and the helmet—well, that depends if it’s certified (check that little tag inside to see if it’s rated for motorcycle use). If that tag says it's good for bikes, then it's worth $167, but if not, the helmet is basically a hundred bucks and that's it.

Just set a starting bid, say $999. That way you actually know where you stand—or rather, what price point you're actually happy with. Everything you need is right there. Put in a little effort.

You can start at $1, but you can also set a reserve price. If nobody hits that number, the item doesn't sell. You can also include a "Buy It Now" option, which ends the auction immediately if someone grabs it.

Just remember Amazon is going to take about a 10-15% cut from whatever you sell it for.

A Jordan mechanic suit alone went for over $3,500—and that didn't even include the helmet. You probably have one of those Detroit ones worth over $2,000, maybe with a helmet included. This is a full kit. It'll sell. Everything has a buyer eventually.

Looking at that last photo of the shoes with the SLR branding, I’m thinking that suit isn't about NASCAR—it’s likely a nod to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

Man, that looks like the exact gear buyers would get when they pick up a McLaren P1. It’s basically meant for those high-end track day events. Not sure about the other stuff, but probably follows the same deal. I've actually seen someone trying to flip a similar suit for about $650 online once.
