I binged the entire episode in one sitting. Just like I did the first time.
It was fast, high-energy, and playful—packed with plot twists, great characters, witty banter, and that classic mix of Ada’s uncontrolled rage versus Serkan’s "cold" attitude.
They fell in love at first sight. That part is set in stone.

My absolute favorite highlight—Ada driving Serkan’s car, hahahaha... she completely floored him. 🙂 🙂
What he finds most magnetic about Ada—that incredibly logical, one-of-a-kind explanation regarding her scholarship, only to turn around and bury him with that "fearless robot" comment!!! She left him totally speechless. 🙂

And once again, I’ve realized I didn't waste my time jumping into this series. They hooked me, man. Right from the jump—even back when they were just unloading grocery bags and Ada was helping out in the flower shop.

Hande looks way too thin. Like, she barely looks nourished.
Jeremy looks improved—he's filled out quite a bit. Almost looking a little bulky now.

Selena? — abso-lute-ly awful from the get-go. And poor Ferris has been a joke since the very beginning! Watching him chase after Serkan on the beach is just so humiliating—honestly, it's painful to watch.

Selena? - honestly, she's been obnoxious from the get-go. And poor Ferris has been a total clown since the start! Watching him chase Serkan along the beach was just pathetic, truly awful.

Bold 1 - I thought the whole car sequence was brilliant. From her ramming into him and his shocked expression—what a wild woman🤣, to him getting in the car, then her dropping the top and saying it would be easier this way, all the way through the drive. It was great.

Bold 2 - now we remember why we had to sit through all that nonsense later on because 😂
they won me over instantly too, and the pilot is my absolute favorite. I think I could watch it a hundred times and never get bored. I remember when I started watching... I was in quarantine, stuck in my room 24/7... I caught up on a few episodes that had already aired and then realized there wasn't more yet... the show was still filming... so I had to wait week after week. It was torture.🤦
I tried watching other shows to pass the time, but nothing worked... they were fine, but they didn't have even a fraction of this chemistry and beauty.

Rewatching this stuff is actually great because I realized I’ve forgotten so much.
My absolute favorite scenes have to be
- the robot
- that lunch with Evrim (or whatever her name was again🤣 )
- and obviously the first kiss
Even though the whole episode 🙏

I remember how in some episodes, Selena was just so bland and lifeless that she couldn't even manage to make me angry—those were the good old days, I guess🤣 .

And the biggest cringe moment, hands down, is that running along the beach and then Cenk bringing a girl along to watch him break up with his girlfriend in person🍿 (honestly, I can't tell who's crazier, him or that Italian girl)

@ ScK I was stuck in quarantine myself when I first started watching 🤦.
Honestly, the only reason I even gave it a shot was because Hande was the only face I recognized from Halka. After about half an hour, I just called it quits—that guy just wasn't my vibe at all.🕺

I'm not a fan of Ken either; he’s just too aggressive for my taste.
I could have managed with BY... I liked the rest of the cast... but that early morning vibe just didn't work for me... Demet is absolutely adorable, but him? He's just that scruffy guy with the vacant stare🤦
I apologize if there are any fans of his around... everyone has different tastes, I guess...

I'm with you. That first episode was pure magic. The pacing is fast, and summer is officially here. Serkan looks 🙏. The cinematography is top-tier. The eye contact? Intense. He’s checking her out, she’s catching his scent... God, what they did to our show. Just ugh.

I kept rewatching that beach scene, but specifically just one part—when Serkan grabs Ada by the waist and pulls her in tight. It hits me right in the gut 🤣.

And of course, I ended up looping those last two minutes three times. You know, when Ada starts marching toward Serkan and they finally kiss. During my last watch, I actually dropped the speed to 0.25... highly recommend 🤣. At 2:06:22, there's this beautiful angle of them kissing that flies by way too fast at normal speed... you almost miss it. And look at the beginning—now we know where Serki learned that fish-kissing move 😒.

Ada looks so cute in those white shorts and that orange top... honestly, it's a crime she wasn't out walking with Serkan instead of that idiot.

The costume designers, makeup artists, and even the writers did a fantastic job tracking Edward's evolution throughout the series. I used to complain about him always being dressed in those tiny shorts...but looking back now, it makes sense. In the beginning, she was just a young college student—minimal makeup, simple dresses, casual shorts...very laid back. As the show progressed, we saw her mature. By the end, we have Edward as a poised, professional woman who has actually started dressing and carrying herself with the maturity she deserves.

I caught up on it last night, but I didn't get a chance to write anything right away. Personally, I really loved the first episode; it felt light, fast-paced, and fun, just like summer should be. Like you all mentioned, you can really see the difference in how they look now. Serge looks even better in the face, though he seems a bit tired—that sort of lightly tanned look—but he’s a little too buff for my taste, though I still think he looks better this way. Honestly, she looks better now too; her makeup is much better done and her hair suits her more. That tan works for her, too. In that first episode, the girls were so close, bubbly, and fun... I have no idea what happened to the writers to make them completely forget that later on. Cheryl looks way better in this episode than she does now, and so does Melo. Every time I rewatch that first episode, I realize why I got so hooked on the series; the acting is just excellent. That guy Jack is a disaster, though; I don't know how they could even pair her with him. What would a girl like Ada ever see in him? The scenes where Ada tries to leave a note for Serge on his car are acted so well, and their love at first sight is more than obvious. Selena was irritating from the very start, and Ferris seemed clumsy and so head-over-heels in love that he couldn't see what was right in front of him. Actually, even he seemed better to me—shorter hair, better outfits. I have to mention that it's always like this with American shows; when a series starts, everything is Great, the actors, the clothes, the hair
Later on, everything kind of goes downhill, though I suppose I should mention they dress people much better in the summer than in the winter. Of course, that's just my perspective.

I spent last night reading through all the posts on the parallel thread. I find myself agreeing with those who feel there is little utility in maintaining two identical discussions.
I am somewhat unclear on the actual motivation for opening a second thread. From what I gather, it was intended as a space for sharing certain images or GIFs that are restricted on the main board.
Since I am quite technologically illiterate regarding such digital add-ons, I have no idea how to post visual media anyway; this single thread is more than sufficient for my needs, and I concur that they should be merged into one.

Nevertheless, this revolving door of a topic prompted me to revisit the premiere episode. It remains one of my favorite installments, if not my absolute favorite.

It is dense with action and plot developments, yet anchored by exceptionally well-crafted characters.
Aisha managed, within the two-hour runtime, to sketch out the fundamental traits of nearly the entire cast. That is a remarkable feat of writing, and it is a shame she seemingly lost her footing and gave up on that level of depth later on.

This pilot could serve as a masterclass in audience engagement. I suspect anyone who watched the first episode felt an immediate compulsion to rush straight into the second.

The episode features several standout sequences, but for me, the lunch scene with Everett is unparalleled. From the initial tension of her refusal to enter the elevator, through his resistance, to her ultimate victory and his eventual concession.
That became his pattern throughout the entire series; she always secured exactly what she wanted, largely by leveraging that specific, pleading look in her eyes.
It was that gaze that consistently broke his resolve.
From the moment she asks him to take her to the ocean in Miami, to the moment she insists he take her along.
Even I would find it difficult to resist doing things I otherwise wouldn't under the weight of that look.
Even her convincing him to play the guitar—she certainly possesses a persuasive power.

In those lunch scenes, Kieran immediately demonstrated the caliber of the actor we were dealing with.
The sheer range of emotions he conveyed in such a short span, using nothing but his eyes, was impressive.
There was the initial shock, followed by acceptance, and even admiration when she suggested they pretend to be a couple to hide the handcuffs.
Then, during the meal, his stunned expression when he realizes Ada has caught Everett's eye and that he is being treated with respect and attention.
And then that bewildered look when she declares she wouldn't sell out her country. Not to mention the subtle way he remembered to wipe her mouth just so he could catch her eye with a smirk.

Honestly, I could watch that lunch scene on loop for the rest of my life. Everyone involved was superb, including her.

The finale was equally hilarious. Between the entire troupe of incompetent assistants and the dramatic entrance of our savior, Fifi, with her triumphant raised hand—these are truly iconic moments.

The scene that best defines Kieran’s character as a man of integrity is when he closes her wallet without revealing her name, respecting her desire for anonymity.
Even though he was alone and no one would have known if he had violated her privacy, his own moral compass wouldn't allow it. He won me over entirely with that single gesture.

The subsequent scene on the plane serves to prove he is a man of flesh and blood, rather than the robot Ada initially characterized him as.

The awakening on the beach is also a very poetic sequence.

Selena's abrasive behavior is another clear indicator of her temperament.

I found her insistence and her irritation over why Serge hadn't mentioned his engagement particularly grating. She was already displaying possessive tendencies regarding Serge.
She seemed to believe she had a right to know everything about him—his movements, his feelings, his every whim.
Her agitation over media headlines and the news of their relationship is further evidence of her obsession, while that disappointed, defeated look when Ada kisses him in public suggests she was denied those same displays of affection during their time together.

I believe this premiere is so packed with events and character beats that it could almost stand as its own separate season.

Both Ada and Serge were totally hooked from the very first episode. I mean, there’s just no saving them at this point.
The girls were teasing her about how good-looking Serge is, and it clearly got under her skin, even though she knows they aren't wrong.
Then Ingram actually managed to annoy him when he called to ask for all the dirt on her. Please, buddy, we all know you just wanted to dig into her life "for the scholarship." Give me a break. hahahhahaah

I guess we just have to wait for episode 2 to see him scrolling through those photos Saul brought over, and then episode 3 where he gets that smug little grin after Saul tells him how much Ada cares and how much she values him.
