Does anyone know the actual difference between the T600 and the T1000? I'm looking at what seem to be identical specs, yet there's a noticeable $333 price gap. That said, it isn't a bad card at all—especially if you're doing design work.
One thing I'm struggling to wrap my head around in these discussions: why an Intel Core i3? Do people seriously think the CPU doesn't matter and that the GPU is going to carry the entire load?

Performance-wise, it’s either negligible or slightly better than old i7 chips.
I forgot what the specific purpose for this build was supposed to be according to everyone here, so I can't say if it actually fits.

NVIDIA is a solid company. I actually have an NVIDIA-related card in my old rig, and man, that thing has really been through the wringer.

The T600 has 640 CUs, while the T1000 jumps up to a full 896 CUs and features higher clock speeds.
However, is the T1000 really fast enough to justify that much of a premium over the T600? I'm not so sure.
Both of them actually underperform compared to the GTX 1650 they are based on, mainly because they pull significantly less power and run at much lower clocks.
In my view, if you can grab a GTX 1650 for $667, isn't that just a smarter move for the average user than picking up either of these Quadratic options?

So, we basically agreed that the RTX 3050 is the better deal if it's sitting around 2 $0.00, but now I'm stuck. There are a bunch of options right in that $2,000 - 2 $167 range... which one is actually the best bang for my buck?? Like, what should I even be looking for to tell them apart? Which specs actually matter??

You've got the RX 6500 XT, which actually outperforms the RTX 3050 by about 20%.

So, I'm back 😢 since the motherboard and PSU from my old list aren't in stock at Best Buy anymore. I put together a similar build over at Visa instead—there's a shop right near me so it's super easy to just swing by, plus they let you pay it off in 24 monthly installments, whereas Best Buy only does 12, so that really helped my decision. I guess I was wondering if you guys could take a look and see if everything works together and if this is a good deal.

You might find some better advice regarding GPUs further up if you have a budget of around $300 or more, which seems to be what you were asking about earlier. Ultimately, though, it all really comes down to what you actually need the card for, doesn't it?

Honestly, just go out and grab some used cards instead. You can snag a GTX 1060 3GB for $400—and let me tell you, that thing is still a beast—rather than wasting your hard-earned cash on this absolute garbage that isn't even worth half the asking price. In my book, if you aren't looking at at least a 6600 or a 6600 XT, you might as well be shopping in the used bin.

Still weighing my options on the GPU, but I definitely need it for stuff like League, Diablo IV, and DOOM Eternal, specifically the Ancient Gods part 2.
As for the rest of the parts, are they alright? I just threw in a power supply and a case as placeholders, so I'm mostly wondering if the main components are solid choices.😉

The 6500XT comes with 4GB of GDDR6 and a full three-year warranty, whereas the 1060 has been around since 2016—and it isn't even any stronger!

I have a question—well, actually two.
I just finished building my brand-new PC, but I don't want to toss my old rig with the ASUS ROG Maximus motherboard. In fact, I'm planning to move it into a fresh case.
Here's the thing: it's a Crossfire-capable board (the Intel X38 Express chipset wasn't exactly the gold standard when it came to dual GPU support, but it gets the job done).
It's also a PCIe 2.0 board, so I really need a decent graphics card that actually supports PCIe 2.0.
What would you guys recommend, and where can I find one? (Used is perfectly fine—actually, preferred, since I doubt anyone is selling PCIe 2.0 cards brand new anymore).

A newer card will work on PCIe 2.0 just fine without any issues... I'd suggest the GT 1030. Since your processor won't be able to push much anyway, this card draws very little power and doesn't require a beefy PSU.

We loaded up "Fortnite" using his old profile from the previous computer, and my grandson is pretty thrilled. Compared to the old machine and that ancient Radeon HD 6670, this new setup with the Nvidia T600 doesn't stutter at all; everything runs smoothly. As he puts it, the graphics look way better than before...
We also tried out "CRSED: F.O.A.D.", but since it's new to him, he needs a little time to get used to the mechanics. Still, the graphics seem solid and it runs normally enough...
