Is this motherboard good for a PC upgrade?

I’m trying to figure out if my current motherboard is actually worth keeping for an upgrade.
I want to beef up the specs a bit—since this board is pretty ancient—so
I was wondering if I could realistically drop in an i3 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and so on.
Also, will my power supply be able to handle the extra load? If not, please let me know why.

You should probably head over to the PC builds sub—those guys actually live and breathe this stuff, so they'll be way more helpful than I am. They can also point you toward a better motherboard if this one isn't quite cutting it...

That's a really old motherboard, so you won't be able to run i3 processors on it—you'll definitely need to pick up a new one. Do you have a budget set aside for a new board, CPU, and RAM? And what's the status of your other components?
