I could use some help if anyone knows 🙂

Last night, my PC monitor started acting up—glitching out completely out of nowhere—despite everything running perfectly fine until that exact moment.

Here’s what it looks like when I snap a photo with my phone:

But here is the kicker—when I take a print screen and transfer the image to my laptop, it shows up looking like this:

Is it possible we're looking at a faulty cable, or is the monitor itself dying? The rig isn't ancient by any means—built back in December 2018.

It is entirely plausible that you're dealing with a faulty cable connecting your monitor to the PC. I’d suggest swapping out whatever you're using—be it VGA, HDMI, DVI, or whatever specific setup you have running—just to rule that out. Another move would be to plug your computer into a different monitor or even just a TV; if that works, you've successfully isolated the issue to the original monitor itself. If those don't yield results, your next step is to double-check your graphics card and ensure your drivers are actually up to date. Of course, the worst-case scenario remains: your GPU might simply be on its way out.

I neglected to mention that I tried swapping out the HDMI cable last night—no dice, same result. Also, if my memory serves me right, I actually updated the drivers a few weeks back via that Radeon software. At this point, my only remaining move is to test the monitor on a different PC.

Hmm... I’ve been browsing some other forums, and based on the screenshots people are posting, it shouldn't be a GPU issue in a case like this (fingers crossed). Thankfully, it's still under warranty.

Maybe try plugging your laptop into that monitor; if the picture comes through crystal clear, then you know for sure it’s the graphics card at fault. On the other hand, if you hook your PC up to something like a big screen TV and the image looks like total garbage, then you've got a clear-cut case for an RMA on that GPU.

Take a look at points 1 through 3—you’re likely dealing with an incorrect refresh rate issue. Go into your Windows display settings and make sure you have it set to 60 Hz:
