Hey there.

Specs:

PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA
Motherboard - ASUS Prime B450M
CPU - AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with integrated Vega 8 graphics
RAM - Kingston 4GB DDR4 2666MHz x2

I could throw an EVGA GeForce GTX 460 in here, but I'm trying to test it without one for now since I don't think it's really necessary. I've got a 120GB Gigabyte SSD inside, and I disconnected the HDD while I try to fix this mess.

Everything is newly connected except the PSU, which I picked up from Best Buy just last week. I installed Windows 10 and all the drivers, but I'm getting a Blue Screen of Death every 10 minutes and then it just restarts. I tried reinstalling Windows 10 plus updates, but I haven't touched the drivers yet because I'm waiting to see what you guys suggest. I read somewhere that drivers can be the issue, so I might just wait. The thing is, I keep getting different stop codes every time. So far, I've seen these:

- ATTEMPTED WRITE TO READONLY MEMORY
- KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE
- SPECIAL POOL DETECTED MEMORY CORRUPTION
- IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
- MEMORY MANAGEMENT

There’s nothing on it besides Windows right now, and it just crashes with a Blue Screen of Death on its own without me even running any programs.

Any help? Thanks.

I’d start by focusing on two main things here:
1. Test those RAM sticks. If I'm reading this right, you've got two modules there, so why not try testing them one at a time? It's probably best to run them on a different PC if you can.
2. What kind of Windows 10 setup are we looking at? Is it some sketchy pirated version? It's totally possible some malware hitched a ride during installation.
3. Get those drivers installed.

On a side note, what BIOS version are you running? This board needs at least version P2.30 to support the 3200G...

Got two sticks here. Honestly, if I pull one out, the whole PC just dies—fans spin up, but there’s zero video. If I pull the other one, everything seems fine; ran for two hours without a Blue Screen of Death. Just finished installing drivers, so we'll see if it holds up. One DDR4 stick was assembled in China and the other in Taiwan. I know it shouldn't matter, but this Chinese one is definitely acting up.

Installed Windows 10 from a USB drive. About two days ago, I ran a Creative Media Tool (I think that's what the .exe from Microsoft's site was called) and just selected the option saying I didn't have a key.

Did some digging before buying this stuff, and someone suggested I just ask the guys at Best Buy to flash the BIOS for me so I don't mess anything up. To be honest, I have no clue which version I'm even running.

Thanks for the help! If it keeps acting weird, I'm returning this DDR4. They should be testing these things before they even let them on the shelf anyway.

Looks like you finally pinned down the issue. If you want some actual peace of mind, maybe run a quick memtest? Just snap some photos if it starts throwing errors—it’ll definitely speed up the RMA process.

Thanks for the tips. It’s been a while since I posted this, but maybe someone stumbling onto this old thread will find it useful.

Turns out the issue was just an old HDD. Once I unplugged it, everything worked fine.

I wouldn't say that, because you actually wrote:
"I've got a 120GB Gigabyte SSD inside and a hard drive that I disconnected while trying to fix these issues."
