Honestly, the main thing is that Charles Leclerc is looking absolutely lethal out there. Everything else is secondary.

Dammit, they are already faster in FP2 than they were in last year's Q1...
and last year they had an advantage of roughly 0.8 seconds in qualifying🤦

If they are running the exact same program as last year, then everyone in the paddock is completely screwed...
Because even now, their car is about 1.3 seconds faster than last year's...

I suspect Ferrari will show some real speed, because it seems suspicious that they didn't improve during fp2 compared to fp1, especially since Charles Leclerc ran fp2 on hard tires!

Vettel even admitted himself that he’s not feeling the car right and knows he can go faster. I really hope that just means they haven't dialed in the setup quite yet. Because if Mercedes-Benz builds up a massive lead after just two or three races, the whole season is basically over before it even starts.

It was pretty mindless to try and judge everyone's form right after testing, and honestly, it’s not that smart to start guessing the qualifying order based just on free practice sessions. Still, you can read between the lines on a few things—like how Williams looks convincingly the slowest, while Alfa Romeo seems to be leading the pack. It also looks like this weekend's fight for pole and the win will boil down to Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, and there's a good chance one of the Bottas / Leclerc duo (probably the latter) ends up kissing the barrier and grabbing a DNF.

FP3 will be the real indicator here. The Ferrari crew needs to dial in that engine and get everything dialed for qualifying. There’s no way they’re going to keep sandbagging like this during tomorrow's practice sessions.

Red Bull is definitely sitting behind both Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari right now. 😉 It’s going to take until the 2030s before they even close that gap; the way I see it, Red Bull is essentially playing in a league of their own—they’re just too far ahead of the "best of the rest" crowd, yet still clearly struggling to catch up to the heavy hitters like Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz. 😉
