I’m inclined to agree with steelorca5 here—that movie was pure cringe. Honestly, those lines like "all it takes is one bad day" and similar "incel-core" nonsense are just unbearable. I don't think there's anything more eye-rolling than characters like the Joker or Harley Quinn, so when I see young guys and girls trying so hard to act edgy or "deep" because of them, it honestly makes me want to claw my eyes out.

But yeah, I have to admit, the actor was genuinely incredible and absolutely deserved an Oscar.

The film is pretty bleak and moves at a crawl, but his performance was spot on.

Phoenix carries the entire movie on his back...
The script itself? Nothing to write home about..

Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet, you seriously need to check out Parasite. Honestly, it’s probably the best movie I’ve laid eyes on in years.👍

It’s an incredible film—truly phenomenal at times—but I have to admit, I still find myself leaning toward the Korean version of Oldboy. It just hits a little differently for me, I guess.

Funny enough, I watched the American remake first and then went back to the original...
That’s really the best way to see just how much of a mess American remakes can be. 😁

Look, I’m no massive cinephile or anything, but I’ll definitely check out Oldboy to see if it lives up to the hype. If it’s even half as good as this, I’m sold.☕

It’s definitely at least half as good.

But honestly, whatever you do, don't go looking up anything about the movie online. If you stumble upon the plot or some major twist, there's really no point in watching it—you lose that entire element of surprise.

I just finished watching Joker and Parasite. Parasite absolutely blew me away on every level—it’s easily sitting in the same league as Oldboy for me.

Joker was alright. It's fun and exciting, and it checks all the boxes for what a movie should be.

Last night I watched https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2194499/, About Time. I’ve always had a soft spot for British films and that specific sense of humor they have. Even with the unrealistic bits and parts that don't quite make sense, it’s a beautiful movie. Just full of heart. Definitely a recommendation for the ladies, and for punker too, since I finally realized he actually enjoys romantic comedies. 😍

An American film—and an Oscar winner, if I recall correctly!
It’s a really cool movie, honestly. It asks all these deep questions but doesn't feel the need to hand you the answers on a silver platter.

So, Anton is this doctor who decides to leave his perfect little American suburban life behind for a bit to work at a refugee center out in Africa. He and his family end up caught between these two totally different worlds, facing all these conflicts that force them into some pretty heavy, difficult decisions. 

Anton and his wife, Marianna, have two sons and they're actually right on the brink of a divorce. To make matters worse, their older son, Elias, is getting bullied at school, and this new kid, Christian, steps in to defend him. Poor Christian just lost his mom recently and he's clearly struggling. But then... Elias starts getting pulled into Christian's world of revenge, and man, things could take a really tragic turn...

I was rewatching this classic from '89 last night:



I haven't sat down for one of his movies in forever, so stumbling onto this felt like such a sweet hit of nostalgia. Honestly, it actually caught me off guard how much range Stallone really has; even when he's just doing those standard action flicks, they still manage to be pretty engaging. At the end of the day, you just can't deny that Stallone’s got way more acting chops than Schwarzenegger.

Man, I’ve actually sat through that movie three times now. 🤣

Donald Sutherland was such an absolute piece of work in it...

If you're a fan of Sly Stallone, you should really check out Cop Land—it's honestly even better. 😉

I might have actually seen it back when I was just a kid, but I was way too focused on the action scenes to wrap my head around the deeper plot.

It reminds me of how I felt about Fight Club. When I was younger, I went in expecting some intense martial arts flick like Bloodsport starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Poor little kid (me) was totally let down—I actually gave up halfway through the first half hour. 🤣 Now, it's easily one of my all-time favorites.
