Is anyone else running into issues with this new November update?

I've attempted the installation five times now—it simply won't take—even after disabling automatic updates to try a manual install.

After two decades of working on computers, I’ve developed one golden rule that I stick to—you just don't need those Windows updates!
Eventually, you might find yourself needing a specific DLL or some Visual C++ package for a certain program, but you can just hunt that down, download it, and move right along... it's really that simple. All this talk about "security" is mostly for people who haven't quite mastered how to actually operate a machine. If someone is truly determined to hack you, they’re going to get in regardless of whether you installed the latest patch or not, so your real priority should be backing up your data regularly... which is what professionals doing high-stakes work do every single day, whereas most home users aren't sitting on anything critical beyond some photos, videos, and the occasional Word doc
The recent patches for Windows 7 actually end up slowing your computer down! I've seen it happen more times than I can count while repairing and building PCs... It feels like these slowdowns are just a calculated way to nudge users toward upgrading to Windows 10, which ultimately forces them into buying brand-new hardware.

My drive just bit the dust physically right after an update. Of course, it cut out halfway through because it was crawling—only managed to install 3 things out of 62, taking a whole hour for each one!
All my data? Gone. Just vanished. The drive head was scratching away at the platter like a frantic soldier stuck in the trenches during WWI.
Seriously, Windows 10 updates are the absolute worst.
