Forum member cosmicgull52 The thread about Donald Trump is just constant trolling and spam now. People are being insulting, and lately, the racist outbursts have become impossible to ignore...
I'm curious if the rest of the mod team and administration agree that these posts...1,2Is he just trolling when he claims racism against white people doesn't exist, or when he pushes for banning certain jobs for whites solely based on skin color? Or are we looking at a blatant example of racism here... I don't know what you're trying to get at here...The only guy who pops up here once in a while acting like a moderator gave this user exactly one 25-point troll card for this entire racist meltdown. I want to know if everyone else agrees...
After that, this guy just went on a trolling spree, leaning hard into racism. Now, almost every single thing he posts is obsessed with race and constantly bringing up "white men"...

Furthermore, according to Article 5 of the policy PDF...
"To keep things civil, please avoid using any insults when discussing public figures. We have zero tolerance for posts like that, and our moderators reserve the right to issue sanctions for anyone being particularly disrespectful..."
I realize I’m being a bit lenient with how this rule is applied sometimes, but what this user is doing is just plain crossing the line. Driven by some kind of pathological hatred, they basically insult Trump in almost every other post... idiot..., Orange bullshit..., [No input provided to rewrite], What an absolute moron..., Orange idiots and morons...I... A racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, transphobic idiot with pseudo-intellectual pretensions...And he’s not even ashamed... Incitement to violence....
This user's filthy language is polluting this thread on a daily basis, and there hasn't been any moderation. I could pull a bunch of similar links if I really wanted to, but honestly, you only need to look at their post history in this thread to see the pattern—it’s just the same garbage over and over again...

Third point: In his obsession with hating the guy in the headline, he shouldn't be dragging anyone else into the mud just because they support Trump or any of his moves. He once went on a rant claiming that anyone voting for Trump is basically a "racist, a xenophobe, or a total jerk," then turned around and aimed those exact insults at half the people on this thread, concluding that none of us are "sane"... I can't believe people are still falling for this stuff. It’s the same old pattern, just different faces. They talk about change, they promise a better future, and then we end up right back where we started. Honestly, at this point, I'm just tired of the endless cycle of empty rhetoric...
Some forum user recently went ahead and called another member "mentally insufficient." If the moderators are looking for proof, that specific post was number #1123 before they scrubbed it...

This particular user’s whole approach to the thread is just pure vitriol. They spend the entire time hurling insults left and right—whether they're targeting Trump, his supporters, or anyone else on this forum...
He constantly calls his conversation partners names on a near-daily basis... to the fascists... And the racists...And honestly, they just endlessly troll and spam the thread. They try to crack these pathetic jokes and ramble about their own internal monologues that have nothing to do with the topic, all while using incredibly crude and vulgar language...

Every single one of his posts is pure filler, and he’s dropped nearly 600 of them in this thread alone. Nothing goes beyond a couple of sentences, and his go-to move is just constant vulgarity and spam. With a user like this running wild and zero moderation, having an actual, reasoned debate on this topic is impossible. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying everyone else here is perfect, but what this guy is doing is just insane. I've reported plenty of his recent posts—including most of those mentioned here—and it's clear the mods have actually noticed and wiped out a good chunk of them. But clearly, that hasn't solved anything. Everything listed in this post is just the stuff that managed to slip through the cracks; there were plenty of deleted posts that were just as bad, if not worse, filled with a ridiculous amount of spam. The real issue is that despite all the deletions, the guy hasn't been banned once recently, which anyone following this thread knows. It feels like deleting posts is just a way to sweep the mess under the rug. I have to ask the moderators who have been cleaning up after him: shouldn't someone who repeatedly breaks the rules by having dozens of posts scrubbed from a single thread face a much harsher penalty?
Can this kind of behavior actually be reined in? And why isn't there a moderator active on this thread to keep things clean? Reports help occasionally, but any chance of a real discussion gets smothered by heavy trolling until a mod finally shows up...

To address the question regarding my colleague’s ban—yeah, I actually agree with the decision to hand out a card for trolling...

I’d also point out that we tend to be pretty lenient when it comes to people insulting public figures, considering how much trash has been talked about Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama... and pretty much every other American politician too.

Now, calling for someone's death isn't quite the same thing, but from what I can see, this user is just responding to another post that was "calling" for it, whether they were being sincere or, more likely, just trolling... which makes their response part of the troll cycle itself. In my view, either both guys are just messing around (regardless of what they’re actually thinking, they're playing along on the forum) or they both deserve a 500... We can't just assume the first guy is joking and then penalize the second one for replying with a "hehe, look at that..."

lonebadger6 said:I’ll address the question regarding my colleague’s ban directly—yes, I agree with the decision to hand out a card for trolling...

Could someone clarify this?
Do you guys (the mods) think racism against white people actually exists? Personally, I think saying it doesn't exist is total nonsense used just to downplay the reality of racism. Which races are we talking about here... It doesn't exist... Racism and why does it happen? The historical facts are pretty clear regarding which types of prejudice dominated the past, but let's be real—racism can target just about anyone...
If you guys actually believe racism against white people is a thing, then how is the claim that "it wouldn't be a bad idea to strip white people of leadership roles for 10 or 20 years" not considered racist? Not to mention it was wrapped up in some trollish joke about how it would give them more time to spend with their kids...

lonebadger6 said:I’d also add that we're actually pretty tolerant when it comes to people bashing public figures. There's been endless commentary on Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama... and basically every other American politician too.

I get that perfectly, just like I said before, but don't you think that... Constant... Constant, vulgar insults without any shred of self-control lead nowhere. It kills any chance of actual discussion, and honestly, someone needs to put a stop to it. If someone calls out a move by calling someone an "idiot" once in a while, that’s one thing. But there's a massive difference when someone spends every single day hurling insults just for the sake of being toxic, which is exactly what this user does. That’s the entire core of his participation here—just constant attacks on Trump. Not to mention, it's basically spam at this point. Even if he were just repeating "Trump is a genius" over and over without adding any real arguments, he should be flagged for spamming. It's exhausting...

lonebadger6 said:That doesn't quite qualify as incitement to violence, but from what I can see, this user is just replying to someone else's "call" for it—whether they’re being sincere or, more likely, just trolling. At that point, the reply becomes part of the troll itself. In my book, either they're both just messing around (regardless of what's actually going on in their heads, it's all just forum banter) or they both deserve a 500 ban... We can't just assume the first guy is joking and then punish the second one for responding with a "haha, look at this..." attitude...

That’s exactly why we need a moderator who actually sticks around and reads this thread regularly. You have to know the users, their specific stances, and their track record on this topic if you want to be effective. That’s supposed to be the job description, isn't it? To moderate based on context rather than just reacting blindly...

Jesus, what snowflake behavior.

Let's look at what the first link I find regarding racism against white people says on the University of California website.

https://www.ucalgary.ca/cared/mythofreverseracism

I have repeatedly explained this exact point—using my own words and various links—during the debate over my somewhat progressive proposal to increase minority representation in leadership roles and close the social gap.

This is a completely legitimate sociological theory.

I truly do not know how to explain it any better to a mass of worried white men. 🤷

Regarding the insults directed at Trump, my view was that it didn't violate the forum rules as I understood them, especially seeing threads like those about Syria or Canada. I must remind everyone that this is a man who has never shown even an ounce of respect or restraint when it comes to verbal insults toward others.

If the moderators say otherwise, I will comply. However, I will note that we all know deep down that on certain threads, a few users do the exact opposite—they write endless praises for Trump, either using obviously false arguments that are constantly debunked or providing no argument at all.

Personally, I never report that. A part of me hopes, out of pure humanism, that it is just trolling.

I’m honestly dying to know what the moderation team thinks about this whole situation. Look, I don’t usually hang out in the politics sections—I have no clue what the vibe is like over there or how heated things get—but this specific topic really grabbed my attention. I'm seeing people split right down the middle, and some folks are getting genuinely worked up over it. It feels like the mods have been stuck in the middle of a total whirlwind lately. So, I gotta ask: are these kinds of views actually okay here? Is this stuff within the lines of what the admin team allows, or are we dancing on thin ice? 🙂

cosmicgull52 said:Look, for anyone else out there who’s actually willing to dig a little deeper into this—no, you seriously can't be racist against a privileged race. It just doesn't work that way. By definition, racism isn't just about being a jerk; it carries this heavy weight of systemic oppression. We're talking about social norms and legal frameworks that have been baked into the system to repress one group over generations. That kind of institutionalized power play is completely absent here, for obvious reasons.

cosmicgull52 said:Look, we’re talking about affirmative action here, and honestly? It’s absolutely necessary. If we want to actually level the playing field, we have to take drastic measures. I’m talking extreme. Personally, I’d go as far as saying we should just ban white men from even applying for those high-flying, top-tier executive roles in most industries for like, 10 or 20 years straight. Period.

cosmicgull52 said:I can't stand this guy; he's such a total douchebag. Honestly, if we’re looking for a real man, he shouldn't be white.

cosmicgull52 said:Man, I’m right there with you—I’d happily strip the guns away from those guys too. Honestly, it’s not even a bad idea!

cosmicgull52 said:Look, let me just lay this out for you because I'm tired of seeing people dance around the truth. There’s no such thing as racism against white people. Period. End of story. It sounds harsh, I know, but hear me out. When we talk about systemic issues, we're talking about power structures and historical momentum that have been baked into the foundation of this country for centuries. You can't just point to an individual being rude or prejudiced and call it "racism" in the way we actually define it sociologically. It's like trying to say a single raindrop is causing a drought—it just doesn't work that way. If you want the actual data and the deep dive on how these social hierarchies function, just go check Wikipedia or some academic journal. The facts are right there if you bother to look.

cosmicgull52 said:Look, I’ve already spent way too much breath explaining to my buddy why you can't really have racism against an institutionally privileged race—and yeah, I mean even if I wasn't white myself. It feels like I'm preaching to the choir here while everyone else is just making noise, and honestly, I’m not some bored guy with nothing better to do than repeat the same tired points over and over again.

This kind of wild, hyper-capitalist economic gap, especially when it falls along racial lines, is just begging to collapse. One of these days, you're all going to look back at my "peaceful" solutions and realize they were actually a beautiful utopia. 👍

Just to throw this out there—when I actually tried to call out this kind of stuff back when I first posted about it, I ended up getting slapped with a warning myself just for pointing it out.

It’s wild. Like, if you go ahead and post actual racist garbage, nobody bats an eye, but the second you try to warn people about it? Boom—you get flagged.

Jerry Ruiz36 said:I’m actually really curious about what the mods think about this whole thing. Look, I don't follow politics—honestly, I have no clue what the discourse is even like over there—but this thread caught my eye. And now I'm just wondering, because I see people here arguing and getting all worked up, which means the mods are clearly letting things slide... are these the kinds of views the administration is okay with having on the forum? 🙂

Those six posts you pulled out as examples? They're just a drop in the ocean—a total DROP IN THE OCEAN—compared to the kind of stuff users are dumping in this thread. And not a single one of them has been penalized.

Setting aside the fact that spitting on your own race and wishing that people belonging to your own group were banned from working for 10 or 20 years is basically pure pathology—it's a fact that writing stuff like that is a textbook example of racism, yet it obviously goes completely unpunished here. So, you could pretty much conclude that posting this kind of garbage is actually acceptable on this forum.

So, just as an experiment, let's say we take one of those posts and change exactly one single word:

instead of
That's called affirmative action and it's absolutely necessary if we want to level the playing field. In fact, I'm all for banning white men from applying for high-paying jobs in most industries for, say, 10 to 20 years right off the bat.

we could write this instead:
That's called affirmative action and it's absolutely necessary if we want to level the playing field. In fact, I'm all for banning Black men from applying for high-paying jobs in most industries for, say, 10 to 20 years right off the bat.

So, I really want to know: does the moderation team see any difference at all between these two posts? And if they do, I'd love for them to explain why.

One might assume—especially after being told repeatedly—that the core issue lies in the massive statistical disparity regarding racial representation in high-paying roles. 🤔

https://hbr.org/2018/02/why-arent-bl...te-collar-jobs

Presenting these easily verifiable facts and suggestions to tackle racism can only be viewed as trolling, if not outright hate speech. 🤷

I will point out that this involves the exact same group of forum users who, ever since last week's election results came in, have been seething at any mention of the gender, sexual orientation, racial, or religious barriers broken by certain candidates' victories.

I cannot bring myself to see anything other than trolling—and perhaps even hate speech—when people label the presentation of these easily verifiable facts and suggestions for tackling racism as such. 🤷

I should probably mention that we are dealing with the same cell of forum users who, ever since last week's election results were released, have been essentially seething at any mention of the gendered, sexual, racial, or religious barriers broken by the election of certain candidates.

Friend, if anyone else had written posts like yours, they would have been permanently banned long ago rather than just suspended.
It seems obvious that you are being protected like a grizzly bear in the Rockies.
The moderation here is shameful. 👎

Like, the core issue is right there staring you in the face: there is a massive, undeniable statistical gap when it comes to racial representation in those top-tier, high-paying executive roles. It's not even a debate once you look at the numbers. 🤔

So then why don't you bring up Asians in the exact same context as white people? 😁

And watch out for that arrogance, man. If you don't lay it out for him clearly multiple times, he’s just gonna keep acting like he owns the place.🤣🤦Look, let’s be real: all those pseudo-intellectual jabs thrown at progressives—or honestly, any ideology for that matter—aren't actually arguments. They aren't based on logic or anything. It's just preaching. It's nothing more than someone standing on a soapbox trying to lecture you.

Shameful moderation.👎

You completely DESTROYED me with your UNASSAILABLE ARGUMENTS. 👍

In reality, as I often start my sentences when dealing with people like you, I have been penalized roughly 400 points this year alone, and I have never met a single moderator nor is there any reason why I would be protected like a VIP at the White House.

Furthermore, in reality, on this site, at least in the threads I frequent, there are at least two users "on your side" whose posts are 90% pure, blatant trolling. One of them probably uses some random word generator; whether it is an automated script or just cheap bourbon, I leave that to the experts.

I usually dislike whataboutism, but since you all have doctorates in it, why not?

Watch this arrogance. If someone explains things multiple times,🤣🤦, the pseudo-intellectual lecturing from progressive ideologues isn't an argument. It is preaching.

The man literally quoted my posts where I "explained things multiple times" and labeled them as racism. 🤷

That’s exactly what I meant when I called out the arrogance. This dude thinks he can just pull whatever definitions he wants out of his own holy book of bullshit and act like he's explaining things to us. 🤦

My apologies. You were the one quoting me. I lost my place in this mental game of chess.

Ultimately, it is hard to call this a dialogue when your strongest argument consists of long, convoluted sentences and citing academic papers or Wikipedia entries as your "holy book of bullshit." 👎

Anyway, calling this a "dialogue" is a massive stretch when your entire strategy is just stacking up massive, convoluted sentences and throwing academic papers or Wikipedia links at me like they're some kind of holy scripture of pure BS. 👎

Honestly, trying to have a real debate with you feels pointless. It’s like trying to argue logic with a Flat Earther. Just a total waste of breath. 🙂

After all those relentless insults thrown at Hillary Clinton—especially during the election season when I wasn't even following things too closely—I've only seen a tiny slice of the whole mess, so I can only imagine what else was said... it's honestly hilarious to see someone complaining now just because people call Donald Trump an orange pest.

And don't even get me started on how people act toward anyone who actually voted for her.
