I’ve got a bit of a weird situation going on here.
Back in September 2017, they drew blood from my right arm. I think they might have punctured a vein because I ended up with this massive bruise. My arm was acting up for about a year after that. Around the twelve-month mark, if I was out in the cold—even just 40 degrees—my arm would really start aching. It cleared up after the first month, so I started getting back into light exercise and swimming. Then, about two months later, I felt that sensation in my right arm again, but it passed pretty quickly.
Then, halfway through my recovery, I noticed these little red spots appearing after I showered—maybe broken capillaries or something? It looks kind of like an allergic reaction, with some redness and bluish tints.
I actually went to see a vascular surgeon, but he said everything looked totally normal in that area. I’m pretty thin, so he was actually shocked at how little body fat I have and how close all my veins sit to one another. My veins are super prominent on my arms.
Another specialist suggested it might be related to my diet, which made me realize that about ten days before the redness first showed up, I had been drinking chokeberry juice. I was only having small amounts, the way you're supposed to, and I stopped immediately once the redness appeared.
But the redness kept coming back after showers, even after I quit the juice. By mid-June, I even saw some slight redness in the crease of my left arm. That’s when I started thinking maybe this has nothing to do with that blood draw on my right arm.
Then, after a trip to the coast in late June, the redness disappeared completely. Everything seemed fine, except it flared up again a couple of days ago.
I mean, I did have some blueberries for breakfast a few days before that. But just small portions.
I probably sound like a total nutcase or a hypochondriac here.

I really want to figure out what's happening because I lift weights quite a bit to help with my back issues—lots of high-rep training with lighter weights. I recently pushed myself a bit too hard during a workout and that spot on my right arm started itching. I mean, okay, I was sweaty, but I definitely felt it right where the redness shows up. I've never had this issue before. And after my shower, the redness and those light bluish colors were back on my right arm.

My doctor basically told me that since the redness goes away, it isn't a medical concern. So much for 21st-century medicine, I guess.

Back in September 2017, they drew blood from my right arm. They probably punctured the vein because I ended up with a massive hematoma. I dealt with issues in that arm for about a year. By the time the 12-month mark hit, if I was out in the cold—say, 40 degrees Fahrenheit—my arm would really start aching. It cleared up after the first month, and I started getting back into light exercise and swimming. Then, about two months later, I felt some discomfort in that right arm again, though it passed relatively quickly.
Then, halfway through my training, I noticed that after showering, it looks like surface capillaries or something burst. There's this strange redness and some bruising. It almost looks like an allergic reaction.
I saw a vascular surgeon, and he said he didn't see any changes in the vein or that specific area. I'm quite thin, and the surgeon was actually shocked at how little body fat I have; all my veins are sitting right there near the surface. My veins are extremely prominent on my arms.
A second vascular surgeon suggested it might be dietary, which made me realize that about ten days before the redness first appeared, I had been drinking chokeberry juice. I was only having small, recommended amounts, and I stopped immediately once the redness showed up.
But the redness kept happening after showers even after I quit the juice. In mid-June, I noticed a slight redness on my left arm too, right in the fold of the arm. That’s when I started thinking this has nothing to do with the blood draw on my right arm.
Then, after a trip down to the coast at the end of June, the redness disappeared. Everything seemed fine, except it flared up again a few days ago.
Now, I had eaten some blueberries for breakfast a couple of days before that. But just small amounts.
At this point, I definitely sound like a lunatic and a hypochondriac.

I want to figure out what's going on because I lift weights quite a bit due to some spinal issues, mostly high reps with lighter weights. I recently ramped up my training and that part of my right arm started itching. Sure, I was sweaty, but I could specifically feel the spot where the redness appears. I’ve never had this issue before. And after my shower, the redness and light bruising returned on my right arm.

My doctor told me that since the redness eventually goes away, it isn't medically significant. So much for 21st-century medicine.

And if it's just "idiopathic"... you sound like a total idiot.
It's nothing life-threatening or serious.
