I dealt with a high heart rate and palpitations, along with constant fatigue, too. However, once I started fasting, my rhythm stabilized by the second day. No more skipping beats, and I just feel much better overall.

When I talk about fasting, I mean a total fast—nothing at all except water. By the second day, the hunger pangs actually vanish once you burn through your glycogen stores and hit ketosis. Usually, I do a 5-7 day stretch twice a year, plus a single one-day fast every couple of weeks...

I’ve lost about 26 pounds, and honestly, I'm in great shape now. My stamina is up, and my digestion and metabolism seem much more efficient.

I wanted to reach out after seeing you were having issues right after eating; I thought sharing my own experience might be helpful.

Diet and weight loss are obviously linked, but stress is the real killer here. For me, it was heart palpitations waking me up in the middle of the night, followed by shortness of breath and blood pressure hitting 180/120. Once I committed to daily exercise and overhauled my diet, I dropped about 20 pounds. My health stabilized and the symptoms vanished. I’ve been through the wringer with testing—blood work, hormones, ultrasounds, even an MRI on my adrenal glands and another on my renal arteries. Everything came back clean. The culprits were purely stress, body mass, and diet. That said, I deal with gallstones, so I get nauseous after meals. I'm scheduled for surgery soon.

We can't exactly tell her that what she's feeling isn't quite the same as our experience.
Because of my lupus, I used to deal with some really scary episodes of rapid heart rate.
But I never experienced shortness of breath once I managed to tune out those symptoms.
I wasn't overweight either—I stayed right around 110 pounds at 5'5".
My blood pressure was steady at 110/70, and I didn't have issues with blood sugar or thyroid problems.
I never suffered from panic attacks.
I wasn't an anxious person by nature.
And my heart palpitations were never triggered by stress.

The bottom line is this: don't play games with your health. It’s much better to be proactive than to wait for things to go wrong.
If you feel like one doctor isn't taking your concerns seriously, go find another one.
Be firm about wanting to try a treatment plan they suggest... then see how it works for you. Tell them clearly that you can't keep living like this because it's becoming unbearable. I know firsthand how terrifying this feels, which is why I wanted to reach out.

Lately, I’ve been getting this freakish sensation, like my heart just stops dead out of nowhere, it's honestly terrifying
I can't even tell if it's just a skipped beat or some sudden panic attack hitting me out of left field
But man, it scares the hell out of me. I start breaking out in a cold sweat from the sheer terror and then my heart just starts absolutely hammering against my ribs
It actually just happened a few minutes ago—I was just sitting there at my desk when it hit me again
