It’s the thriller fans have been dying for, and just like the others, it hits on some seriously heavy, real-world issues. Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist are back together for one hell of a ride!

In the movie version, who actually plays the iconic Lisbeth Salander? Claire Foy! Seriously, can we talk about her? It's Sverrir Gudnason playing Mikaela Blomkvist—you know, that actor from The Crown!

So we've got Sylvia Hoeks in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, right? You just saw her in Blade Runner 2049. Plus there's Lakeith Stanfield from Get Out and Cameron Britton—you know, the main villain from Mindhunter. What an insane lineup!
Anne Hathaway is actually in this one! She's basically the most famous trans model on the planet right now. And get this—David Fincher, who directed the first movie, is stepping up as an executive producer this time around. How cool is that?

Picking Claire Foy for the role of Lisbeth Salander feels a little wild, doesn't it? I mean, she’s basically known for playing the Queen in The Crown! Can we just talk about The Crown for a second? Seriously, how good was that? Back when she was playing that sweet, motherly queen role on *The Crown*, she was all smiles. Now? She’s out here trying way too hard with this whole goth aesthetic! What happened? 😛

Solid cast and an interesting director—we'll just have to wait and see how it actually lands.

Personally, I thought the book was pretty incredible, but it’s just absolutely loaded with technical data and deep dives into how all this Silicon Valley tech innovation actually works, so I'm honestly struggling to figure out how to spin all that into a cohesive, fast-paced thriller

I’ll never wrap my head around Sony's brainless move to ditch Rooney Mar and just jump straight into a reboot using a fourth book that isn't even by Stieg Larsson—it's honestly pretty mid.
They should've just finished the original trilogy with Rooney; she was the perfect Lisbeth.

If you ask me, it’s not even about the actress—it’s just that the plot itself is a total snooze fest...

Just finished watching it. Since I haven't read the book, the plot felt a bit disjointed at times—too many details thrown at you all at once, some things overlapping. It's also a bit silly that the setting is New York City, yet everyone is speaking perfect English; you could see that coming. ☕

The film focuses almost entirely on Lisbeth. Mikael barely gets twenty minutes of screen time, which felt like a massive distraction. I'm not sure if the book follows that same imbalance.

The new Lisbeth is solid. And the actress playing her sister is excellent, too.

Is this really as bad as the critics are making it out to be?

It’s worth a watch if you have nothing else to do, but I wouldn't call it gripping. This segment feels like a total action flick, sort of a Mission Impossible rip-off, just significantly less inspired. 🙂

Thanks, I think I'll pass. I've got plenty of other things on my watchlist that aren't quite as much of a mission impossible as this one...😁

I'm with you on that.

Honestly, it was pretty weak; I didn't enjoy the movie at all.

It isn’t even the recast that gets under my skin—it’s just that, aside from the characters' names and their updated looks, I felt absolutely zero connection to what happened in the previous films.

It feels overly Americanized; she’s out there saving the entire world, hacking into every living thing just by using her phone, and so on. The soul of the original story has completely vanished.

I’m genuinely curious about this book. I just can't seem to get myself started. But yeah, it’s basically an Americanized Die Hard variant, with Lisbeth acting as the Bruce figure.

Great movie. Honestly, I preferred this one over the first installment, and I actually found this cast to be much stronger.
