Silver frame for Apple

So, I’ve got this Apple phone. The frame is pretty much trashed at this point, so I was thinking about just stripping it down completely and touching it up with some automotive grey spray paint. How much of a genius move is that?

"You do all this at your own risk." So yeah, there's a real chance you could just totally wreck your phone. I'm also not even sure if automotive paint is the right call here—that stuff is meant to be applied in super thin layers, and car paint feels way too thick; I feel like it might just start flaking off after a while. A friend of mine tried something similar on her old phone, but that was an older model made entirely of plastic, and she just used nail polish. Honestly, it looks okay... well, it doesn't look "real," but maybe it actually looks better than it did before.

Just so you know—some of these colors are highly flammable. Even that spray stuff you’re using? It’s basically liquid fire. I wouldn't recommend messing around with this if you hadn't already started, but seriously, think about the risks. For instance, if a smartphone battery starts overheating—which happens more often than people realize—you could end up with a massive fire on your hands in an instant.
