I’m looking for some assistance—I’ve run into a rather senseless issue. Everything was functioning perfectly until two nights ago when my computer experienced a sudden, violent jolt. When I powered it back up, my screen resolution had shifted, and the window colors were no longer black, but had turned this strange shade of blue.

I managed to restore the resolution to its original setting, but I am unable to fix the window color. Whenever I right-click, select Personalize, and navigate to Windows color, I get stuck with what you see below. The color palette and brightness adjustment slider are completely missing from the menu.

Just head into your My Computer, right-click, and hit properties. From there, you'll want to navigate over to the advanced system settings on the left side—once you're there, look under the performance section, click on settings, and just select the option to let Windows choose what’s best for my computer.

Maybe give those graphics drivers a quick reinstall. It looks like things have defaulted back to Windows 7 Basic... just that stripped-down window mode again

Yeah, it's most likely the drivers—I tried following one of those online guides and just got hit with a driver error. I'll have to dig into that a bit more. Thanks.

+ And obviously, it’s gotta be the drivers. I mean, if this just started happening out of nowhere, it’s pretty clear those graphics card drivers just gave up the ghost.
