Hi there, I could use some help picking out a new PC. My usage is pretty specific: I only need it for FIFA 18 and general web browsing. I’m not just looking for something that barely runs the game; I want a machine that performs smoothly—essentially, the best bang for my buck. For context, here are the official recommended specs for this title:

Intel Core 2 duo E8300 2.83
Nvidia GeForce gt 640

or

AMD Phenom ii X3 700
ATI Radeon R7 7650 k
(both setups featuring 4 GB of RAM)

First off, I’m wondering if my logic for using these specs as a baseline is sound. I did some Googling, and it looks like these components are often bundled together, which makes it a bit confusing to find something comparable at a local retailer here in the States.

To wrap things up, I am looking for a desktop PC with similar (or ideally better) specs than what I listed above, available here in the US, for a maximum budget of $1000. Since I’m not an expert on current pricing, if my expectations are unrealistic for that amount, please just suggest the best possible option within my budget. Thanks in advance!

Just a quick heads-up on this setup: it’s an AMD Ryzen 3 2200G (3.7GHz, 6MB, 65W, AM4) boxed unit, complete with integrated RX Vega 8 graphics and a Wraith Stealth cooler. I guess it's a pretty straightforward entry-level build.
Just picked up a Crucial 8GB kit—two 4GB sticks of DDR4 running at 2400 MT/s. It’s the standard CL17 unbuffered stuff. I guess it should do the trick.
1 x 1TB Dell Latitude HDD, 64MB, 7200rpm, High-Performance
One 400W Fortron Hexa+ power supply, 80+ rated.
One ASRock AB350 PRO4, AM4 socket.
One Zalman Z1, USB 3.0 in black, featuring dual 120mm fans.

Total: $1018 Futura-IT

First off, is my logic even sound using these as a starting point? I looked up these parts online and they seem like bundled integrated options, so I'm having a hard time finding anything similar here in the States.

To sum it up, I'm looking for a desktop with specs similar to those listed above (or better if possible) for under $1000 max. Since I'm not an expert on pricing, if my budget is too low for what I'm asking, just let me know what the best option is within my price range. Thanks in advance.

I'd grab a used tower for about $33, then swap the Ryzen 2200 for a Ryzen 5 2400G... or just throw it in a case if you already have one lying around 🙂

If you don't have a case, go with what Smartic put together 👍
