Incredibles 2 is an upcoming 3D computer-animated superhero flick.

The wait is almost over—we’re finally getting a sequel to that massive animated hit The Incredibles from back in 2004. The stakes remain high, though the roles have shifted slightly: while Elastigirl is out there saving the world, Mr. Incredible faces his most daunting mission yet—trying to manage the kids at home without everything falling apart.

I'm honestly looking forward to this so much; I think this might actually be my favorite animated film of all time, if I'm being honest.

Solid.
It hit all the right notes—plenty of laughs, action, and those little moments of wisdom you expect. My wife and I had a great time, and the kids were totally hooked.
Bottom line: it’s a perfect family movie night.

I’m honestly floored by how much cash this movie pulled in, especially since we had to wait 14 years for it. I didn't even realize the first one was such a massive hit.

When I watched the first one—I was expecting just a typical cartoon—but it turned out to be this intense superhero movie... honestly, more like a serious animated drama. It’s the kind of thing parents end up enjoying way more than the kids they brought along thinking it was just some "kid's flick." Actually, these modern animations have become much heavier than live-action movies sometimes—there's so much satire baked into them, it's just that not everyone catches the subtext.

The main reason I find myself drawn to Disney animated films is how they tap into such a deep well of emotion. Unfortunately, that just didn't happen for me with this one. After being hit by a string of absolute masterpieces lately—think >, >, and >—this felt pretty underwhelming. To be honest, the humor felt a bit forced to me, though I realize comedy is always subjective.
I have to give credit where it’s due: the plot was solid enough to save the movie from being a total wash, but overall, I felt pretty indifferent toward it.
It’s a decent enough film, but let’s be real—Disney has definitely proven they can do much better than this.

That’s awesome! It’s definitely great, though I still don't think it quite reaches the heights of the first one, which I honestly consider to be the best animated movie ever made...

It seems like they really dove deep into the private messages and tackled a lot of what's going on in the USA right now—things like feminism, family dynamics, capitalism, and how commercialism takes over everything... They really managed to weave all those themes into the story...
Even that ambassador character has this unmistakable vibe that reminds me so much of Hillary Clinton...

It looks like the movie is well on its way to chasing that title of being the highest-grossing animated film of all time...🎉

Just a little correction here, > is actually a Pixar movie (it was directed by >, who also did >). I realize they're part of the Disney family now, but as an animation studio, they still have their own distinct look and vibe. If I had to pick, I'd say Pixar films always feel just a tiny bit more intellectual to me, whereas Disney tends to lean harder into the sentimentality...

It was an excellent film, easily on par with the original, which remains one of my favorite animated features.

Watching this with a group at the theater... they totally missed the mark on the little kids. This movie is really for the people who saw the first one back when it just hit theaters.

Even though I think the first one had a more refined sense of humor and the voice acting was generally better... Honestly, it’s a letdown... though I will say the sequel is actually great.

The movie basically picks up right where the first one left off—man, those memories feel like they happened just yesterday. Honestly, the fact that it took this long to even get a sequel tells you everything you need to know about how much they wanted to do this right and stay original. Before the movie kicked off, they showed a teaser for some yeti cartoon, which looked honestly pathetic compared to what we actually got here. I’m pretty sure I saw more adults in the theater than actual kids, too. And the design? Man, it still blows my mind. Every single detail. The action was killer. They leaned into the whole baby thing a bit too hard if you ask me, but hey, it worked...

Plus, the voice acting is spot on again, total masterpiece 🙏

I noticed that too. I have to say, it's pretty gutsy for a massive studio machine like Disney to take this approach—it's surprisingly social-political.

Just as good as the first sequel. Actually—dare I say it?—I might even like this one better.
