Honestly, this is one of the best "manly" thrillers to hit theaters in years.

image

It’s giving me major vibes from the legendary Heat, and honestly? It’s a damn good clone if you ask me.

image

I ended up watching it by total accident... and man, I was floored!
If you're a fan of Heat, you are going to absolutely love this.

It’s got everything: the tension, a smart-as-hell plot, action that goes hard, all that suspense, and an ending you won't see coming... though I gotta say, I wish they went a different way with the finale, especially since you get so sucked into these characters over the 2.5-hour runtime...
Total binge-watch material.

Highly recommend!!!

Honestly, it's great—highly recommend.

It’s been forever since I’ve seen a heist thriller that actually feels grounded. No superhero antics, no kung-fu nonsense, and no Rambo-style bullet dodging—just a story that stays close to reality for once.

I couldn't even finish it. Watched about thirty minutes before I just gave up. Gerard Butler has really gone downhill...👎

This movie is basically the budget version of Heat, but hey, it actually works. I mean, we’ve seen this whole setup a million times before, so nothing is groundbreaking here, but it gets the job done. Butler is out there being his usual larger-than-life self—honestly, I don't know how he keeps landing these roles... The villains are definitely a bit caricatured, but they serve their purpose as obstacles, I guess. It's worth a watch if you have the time. Just don't expect any of that subtle finesse you get from Heat that stays with you long after the credits roll.

Man, what can I even say? Started watching this about ten days ago, but after maybe ten minutes I hit a wall, felt totally drained, and just thought, "Yeah, I'll pick this up tomorrow..." Well, fast forward to today and there isn't a single damn thing drawing me back in. 🤷

What kind of absolute morons are these people? Instead of just pulling off a quick, efficient heist under the cover of darkness, they wake up half the entire State Police and start spraying bullets like they're storming Omaha Beach.

Give me a break... total garbage right from the jump. ☕

It's an okay movie to watch. Nothing to write home about, though.

I’d been building up this movie in my head for ages—really getting myself worked up for it—only to end up feeling a bit let down by the finale.
It isn't a total disaster, mind you; the heist sequences at the Federal Reserve were easily the highlight. But honestly, all that forced macho posturing, the constant grit, the thugs, and those endless displays of testosterone... it was just a bit much for me.

I wish they had given us more backstory on Merrimen; he was a compelling character.

Pure ambition.

Pump them up with enough steroids and you’ve got ogres—yeah, the kind straight out of a fantasy novel.

And then they try to pass that off as a gritty action flick 🙏

Stop talking nonsense.

It’s honestly just a sad imitation of Heat—nothing more, nothing less... there's zero character development to speak of, and the whole thing is just riddled with plot holes and logic gaps that make no sense at all. Even the lead character ends up dealing with the exact same issues we saw in the original, which they try to pass off as some big dramatic twist at the end... but it just feels unearned. Such a disappointment...

Is this some kind of joke? Honestly, the whole movie felt like nothing more than hardcore gay porn—just zero plot, just two leads constantly checking each other out... If nothing else, I’m officially convinced that from now on, I am staying far away from anything starring Gerard Butler. He’s way better suited for those cheesy romantic comedies anyway.

Gerard Butler
I'm not sure I have much else to contribute to the discussion. 🙏

Meh.

It’s honestly just a watered-down, weak imitation of Heat. I mean, if you want to see what a decent remake looks like, The Town eats this for breakfast and leaves no crumbs. This just doesn't hit the same.

And man, the character development? Almost non-existent. It feels like they barely scratched the surface with these people. Plus, that twist (spoiler alert: at the end) was totally pointless and felt completely unearned.

To be fair, the shootout scenes? Absolutely killer. They look incredible—seriously, better than good. That part was executed at a top-tier level.
But honestly, they really missed the mark by setting that first shootout in the dark and then doing the final one during the day, which is basically the exact opposite of how Heat handled it. That final showdown should have definitely happened under the cover of night; the low visibility would have cranked the tension way up.

After finishing this one, I actually went back and rewatched Heat just to compare them side-by-side.
It really goes to show how we tend to view cult classics through rose-colored glasses, especially when they’ve got legendary actors attached to them, right?
Personally, I don't think Heat is better overall. I’m pretty sure if you swapped the release dates of these two movies, people would be tearing Heat apart for its pathetic love stories and predictable ending.
De Niro gives a solid performance, particularly that great scene where he first meets his woman, but Pacino is playing it with that same style he used in Scent of Zen—it could have been stronger.
Butler is convincing and brutal in this new version, and honestly, his rival is even better.

I honestly didn't get the whole "copycat" vibe with him at all, but I see everyone just blathering on about it constantly... there are a million movies out there that follow that exact same formula.
Look, it wasn’t exactly groundbreaking or anything, but honestly? It was pretty solid. The action sequences actually landed for me—they had some real teeth. There was this one twist that felt a little forced, I won't lie, but hey, it caught me off guard and kept things interesting. Not bad at all.
Honestly, amidst the absolute sea of garbage that Gerard Butler has been churning out lately, he actually pulls this one off. It’s a rare win in a string of total flops.

What a joke. Honestly, that was a total six out of ten at best.

A solid piece of filmmaking. That shootout at the end was absolutely unforgettable.
