Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone might be able to lend me a hand here...
I’ve been having some trouble with my Dell Inspiron 15. It just won't boot up properly... When I power it on, the Inspiron logo pops up, but then everything just goes completely black right when it should be loading macOS.
Once I shut it down, I notice the first indicator light starts blinking orange...

It's pretty obvious macOS is acting up—what was the last thing you were doing on your laptop?

Look, it’s pretty obvious you aren't going to fix this mess all by yourself—there are just way too many moving parts and trying to explain every single troubleshooting step would be a total nightmare... honestly, just find someone who actually knows their way around a motherboard to take a look at where it's stalling, or just drop it off at a local repair shop and call it a day.

Everything you’ve pointed out is absolutely correct, and if I can't manage to sort this out on my own, I'll certainly be taking it into a local repair shop...
I'm reaching out here first because the guys in this group have been such a huge help to me a few times before, so I figured I'd check in with you all before I go running straight to the repair shop...

Try to find whatever macOS installation media you used—whether it was a USB drive or a disc—to reinstall the OS you're currently running. Boot from that and try a system repair; that might do the trick. If it doesn't, you'll likely have to wipe the hard drive and do a clean install of macOS.

It’s entirely possible that the heat is causing it to overheat right now, especially with this weather... you should probably check if the underside feels hot to the touch or if the fan is blowing out really warm air. In my experience, about 90% of the time, it's just a buildup of dust clogging up the cooling system and choking the airflow...

It doesn't feel hot....
And why does the indicator light keep blinking even when the machine is powered down?...
