I honestly think enough time has passed that this kind of constant disrespect should be sanctioned. The guy was actually asked to stop insulting me.

So, where’s the principle of equality for everyone on this forum if some people get away with way more than others? Or am I just supposed to take more abuse than everyone else?
If I remember correctly, you guys didn't say anything back when people were calling us "cultists" in the politics section, and now you're ignoring this. Can someone tell me what happened?

Is there seriously nobody here who can answer this simple question?

Look, obviously insults aren't allowed here. You guys have been doing it constantly ever since you started tearing through the Off-topic subforum.
Do you honestly think it’s that easy for me to tell the difference between someone just messing around and someone being actually serious? I mean, come on, look at the reality of it. For three days, everyone is just joking around, chatting, and posting the same kind of stuff in a playful way, but then suddenly, on the fourth day, the jokes stop and people are just straight-up insulting each other and whatever else.

Richard Sanders7 has been specifically warned, because this isn't even his first time.

Look, northernpilot2, if you seriously can't tell the difference between someone being a jerk and someone just messing around, I don't know what to tell you.
People are going to start new threads; we've already got plenty of joke threads where we post stuff like that. If you think the rules say otherwise—like we’re strictly forbidden from doing that and have to stick to one specific thread—then that needs to be clearly stated in the official rulebook.
If I feel like someone is ruining the vibe and being toxic, I'm going to report it. Especially when they're coming for me personally. When I report something for being offensive, I expect that person to at least get a warning. I'm not trying to get anyone banned for life, but people need to follow the basic rules of decent behavior. It's that simple.
There are threads in there with over ten thousand posts that haven't even been locked; maybe that's why there are so many different topics floating around. You aren't keeping up with what's happening in the Off-topic subforum, and honestly, it doesn't seem like you even want to. No offense, but no matter how cool an Off-topic subforum is, it still needs a moderator.
I could be totally honest here, or (just kidding) I could ask for special treatment from a biased mod ☕but that's just how it is☕

northernpilot2, take a look back through the previous Anti Social Social Club chat. If you can find even a single page where Tuxi wrote something without being insulting to someone, I'll give you $33. Honestly, nobody even reported anything because people here aren't snitches ☕. And I really don't get this guy either. I just asked him if he knew anyone more clueless than Tuxi—I wasn't trying to insult anyone, just asking a question ☕

I mean, I can definitely tell the difference, but honestly, it feels like you guys are being way more chill with how you moderate the Off-topic subforum compared to everything else on the rest of the forum.

Man, what is with this constant policing of threads? There are way more dedicated joke threads where we actually post this kind of stuff. I mean, if you’re seriously under the impression that the rules are different—like, that we aren't allowed to do this and absolutely have to stick to one specific thread—then I guess that really needs to be clearly laid out in the official rulebook PDF or whatever.
Look, if I feel like someone is straight-up ruining the vibe or breaking the unwritten rules of how we should all be hanging out here, then yeah, I’m gonna report it. Especially when things get personal and people start getting disrespectful toward me. I mean, if I flag a post for being toxic or offensive, I just expect that person to at least get a warning or something, you know? It's not like I'm trying to go on some crusade to get everyone banned or anything—I'm not about that life—but there have to be some basic standards for how we act toward one another if this place is going to stay decent. I don't know what else to tell you, really.

Look, at the end of the day, insults are insults, plain and simple. I was just pointing out those specific threads—you know, the ones that hit over 10k posts where everyone’s just messing around and joking, maybe even masking some stuff under the guise of being polite, but honestly, it all kind of blurs together. It could be seen as just banter, or it could be seen as straight-up disrespect, I guess... it really just depends on how you're feeling in the moment, maybe.

Look, you've got threads over there that have blown past ten thousand posts ages ago, and they aren't even locked—so maybe that’s kind of why the whole place feels so cluttered with too many topics. I mean, you don't really know what's going on in the Off-topic subforum since you aren't keeping up with it, and honestly, I suspect you might not even have the energy to care, no offense intended, but even if the Off-topic subforum is pretty chill and fun, it still needs a moderator to actually run things.
Look, I could just be straight with you, or—and this is kind of a joke, really—I could try asking for an exemption from this biased-as-hell moderator mode. ☕I mean, honestly, you just gotta get it done. There's really no other way around it, I guess. You can sit there and overthink it all day if you want, but at some point, you just have to roll up your sleeves and actually do the work. It's one of those things where you just have to commit, you know?☕

I mean, let’s be real about the Off-topic subforum—it’s basically a black hole. I honestly don't think there's a single moderator on this entire site, or maybe even any forum out there in the US, who actually bothers to read through it like they do the rest of the boards. It's just a massive dumping ground for random chat threads that basically get tossed straight into the trash once they hit 10k posts, or maybe a little more if people are feeling generous. Do you seriously think someone is going to sit there scrolling through page after page, constantly policing everything and keeping order? Of course they aren't. I mean, it's just not physically possible, I guess.
I mean, since the moderation over in the Off-topic subforum is pretty laid back, I guess most people would probably get kicked out if they tried that kind of stuff anywhere else, but here? It’s a different story. You could basically break half the rules and still be fine, which honestly, maybe that's just how it goes.

They aren't exactly the kind of crowd that goes around snitching on everyone, you know? ☕ I honestly don't get this guy either. I just asked him if he knew anyone even more clueless than Tux, and it's not like I was trying to insult anyone or anything, I’m just asking a question, you know? ☕

Look, whether they're just being total trolls or not, the whole insulting thing isn't allowed here. If she actually was being abusive—and since this is just an open chat thread, I guess I missed it in the moment—you should probably just report it. Insulting people is against the rules. And now you're the one doing the insulting. I already told you not to go down that road.

The moderator’s breakdown is spot on, and I fully back it. Honestly, I’m just reporting the harassment I’ve been flagging for a while now. He’s already given his side of things, too, so it’s pretty obvious he isn't planning on stopping the insults. I have no intention of dodging responsibility once the facts are out there. Everything stays strictly by the forum rules.
Thanks!

If she was being disrespectful earlier, since this is an active chat thread, I might have missed the exact moment it happened, so please just report it. Insulting others isn't allowed here. And now you're doing the exact same thing to her. I already gave you a heads-up not to go down that path.

You only warned me about staying on topic. Honestly, I'm not insulting anyone; I'm just typing Tuxi because my "d" key is acting up and won't register.☕

Look, the Off-topic section is just way too chaotic and fast-paced for us to have enough moderators on hand to constantly monitor everything in real-time. For the most part, we’re moderating based on user reports, so you guys really have two choices: either try to keep the discussions a bit more civil and manageable, or we’re going to be forced to crack down with stricter penalties, including partial bans. We aren't expecting the Off-topic area to be strictly constructive—it exists because we recognize that people want a place for casual chatting. We totally get that, and we respect how much having a space to unwind can mean to everyone, but this isn't going to be a free-for-all where people can repeatedly break the rules that we enforce everywhere else on the site.
