My motherboard just gave up on me. Since I'm working with an older laptop, finding replacements is nearly impossible, so I had to hunt for one through a classified ad online.
I managed to track down a motherboard from a Dell Latitude 1en, but my specific machine is a Dell Latitude 1qw.

Do you think those last two letters in the model designation will cause any issues regarding component compatibility?

Also, does the 1en version feature dedicated graphics, given that my 1qw definitely has its own chip?

Thanks.

I found a motherboard from a Dell Latitude 1en, but my actual laptop is a Dell Latitude 1qw.

Do those last two letters in the model name actually matter? Like, is there a chance this motherboard won't work with all my components because of them?

And does the 1en version have dedicated graphics, because my 1qw definitely has it?

Thanks.

The 1en uses integrated graphics.
http://www.dell.com/discontinued-p...lite-l500-1en/

type : Intel Core i5
memory amount : total available graphics memory can be up to 1,340 MB with a 32-bit operating system and 3 GB system memory or 1,759 MB with a 64-bit operating system and 4 GB system memory
memory type : shared

The 1qw has a PCIe slot.

http://www.dell.com/disco...lite-l500-1qw/

type : NVIDIA GeForce with Hyperthreading support
memory amount : 512 MB dedicated VRAM (with Hyperthreading, you get up to 1.791 MB total graphics memory on a 32-bit OS with 3 GB RAM, or 3.323 MB on a 64-bit OS with 6 GB RAM)
memory type : DDR3 Video RAM (combined Video RAM and system memory)
connected bus : PCI Express®

Do NOT buy a motherboard that isn't an exact match for yours, because there is ALWAYS some random piece of crap that won't fit properly.

Quick question for you—what kind of glitch are we actually talking about here? Are you 100% certain it’s a motherboard issue...
