PC won't turn on - looking for a repair shop recommendations

My PC decided to quit on me a couple of days ago and just won't boot up. Honestly, I haven't a clue what went wrong. So, I'm checking to see if anyone here actually knows their way around hardware (or knows a pro who does) and can handle this FAST. Like, ASAP—I really need to get back online immediately. Please don't try to DM me since I'm totally cut off from the web right now (writing this from a computer lab at the local community college because my phone's data is acting up), so just give me a call at 555-012-4489 instead.

Hey, you really should have included your PC specs—how old is the rig, anyway? There could be a hundred different things causing this, from the power supply to the motherboard, or maybe just the RAM, etc., etc. If it's a hardware failure, you're looking at swapping out parts, which means testing everything and having someone on hand with enough spare components—including a motherboard that actually matches your processor's socket. Honestly, you might be better off just taking it to a repair shop.

It’s probably the power supply. If you can swing buying a new one—or even just borrow one from another rig to test it out—that should be your first move.

I mean, if there’s zero sound, nothing on the screen, and not a single LED is blinking... yeah, you start with the PSU. It’s a safe bet about $50 percent of the time.

1) Check the case, specifically the power button: Try shorting the pins on the motherboard directly with a small screwdriver (or any little metal bit) to see if it triggers a boot.
2) Test the PSU—if the rig is still totally unresponsive, unplug everything and use a paperclip or a scrap of wire to bridge the green and black wires on the 24-pin connector. That should jumpstart the power supply itself.

- If you've run through all those tests and everything checks out, then we're looking at a dead motherboard. It’d have to be completely fried to show zero signs of life... let me know what happens.

- Like mistyskipper4 mentioned, you really need to post your full specs so we actually know what hardware we're dealing with here. And honestly? If you aren't comfortable messing with this stuff, just call someone who knows what they're doing. Don't go making things worse. You can knock out these basic tests in maybe 30 minutes tops.
