Well, look what we have here. For the first time, the former Governor is stepping into a heavy, somber drama—a role that perhaps would have felt more natural for someone like Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, or Robert De Niro.
Back in the eighties and nineties, Arnold Schwarzenegger was the undisputed king of Hollywood, a total icon who seemed to churn out one massive hit after another, stacking up wins and successes with ease. However, toward the end of the nineties, his star began to fade, and his films struggled to find much traction with either audiences or critics. There was a sense that he might try to pivot back to acting to revive his career, but instead, he chose to dive into politics. Once he stepped away from the political arena and returned to the screen, his movies—while decent enough—just couldn't quite recapture that old magic.
