Really solid flick from Luis Buñuel’s son, Juan Luis—honestly feels a lot like the old man’s French era, just way more fun and less heavy-handed with the satire. Catherine Deneuve plays this writer dealing with some seriously weird visions (might actually be real, who knows?), while Fernando Rey is the wealthy socialite bankrolling the whole art scene—mostly just to feed his own twisted interests. That ending? Killer. The head catching fire like a matchstick and that shot of the hallway... pure cinema.
