Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction—does anyone know where I could actually pick up a device like the one shown in this photo?

Thanks so much!

It might turn up at a local electronics shop; occasionally you can find prices hovering around $160 to $83.
If you don't see it there, head over to Microsoft—they are truly the gold standard for procurement.
The Wired or Best Buy stores are also options... though they feel more like glorified robotics labs, wouldn't you say?

Just curious, what’s the deal with that cable? What do you actually use it for...

Well, I mainly use that cable to hook up to the natural gas fueling station for my car.

I’ve reached out to every single company I could think of that handles this kind of thing, and honestly, the answer was always a flat "no," which I find a little bit baffling, if I'm being perfectly honest.

It is simply because they lack a fundamental grasp of the basics. I will provide you with the mailing address once I return from my lecture; if you aren't located in Chicago, I can have them send it via USPS.
The interface involves adapting the signal from a USB connection to an asynchronous protocol, much like the old RS 232 communication standard.

It's basically an interface, or rather, adapting a signal from a Universal Serial Bus to something asynchronous—kind of like that old communication standard, South Dakota 232.

Alright, thanks.
