Hey guys... okay, so this is happening to me for the first time ever and I have been losing my absolute mind with anxiety all day.
It’s itching like crazy down there and stinging both inside and out. I haven't noticed any weird discharge yet. Yesterday it was just a tiny itch, totally ignorable, so I didn't think much of it—plus I had sex yesterday too—but this morning I feel like I'm actually going insane from the itching 😢(((((((...I've been scouring forums and reading every recommendation from garlic remedies to everything else imaginable. My appointment at the OBGYN isn't for like three whole weeks because the wait times at her office are always ridiculous 😠 and so, I went ahead and grabbed a 3-pack of those Johnson & Johnson vaginal suppositories over the counter (I'm assuming it's a yeast infection based on what I've read), but it still itches. Obviously, it won't vanish overnight, and things feel slightly better on the inside, but the outside is just ugh, it still itches so bad 😢((( I am literally dying here, it's so distracting. I can't get anything done today because of the itching and stinging; maybe it feels this intense because it's my first time dealing with this? ;/ I'm planning to go pick up some Johnson & Johnson cream for external use now—do you think that'll actually help stop the itching and stinging? 😢((...please help people, I need an answer ASAP 😢((((((

Is that red patch where you're itching actually bothering you?
I really hope it isn't some kind of herpes outbreak.

When you're dealing with a yeast infection, there's usually a thick, cottage cheese-like discharge involved. Without that specific symptom, I can't say for certain if it's actually yeast, and since Johnson & Johnson is an antifungal, it won't be much help if that's not what you're fighting. What I would suggest instead is picking up some John Doe; it’s a blend of herbal and essential oils designed to tackle bacteria and yeast, and it even includes oils that are effective against viruses. Plus, if the base contains St. John's Wort, it should really help soothe any little abrasions you might have caused from scratching.

I remember catching a nasty yeast infection myself while vacationing on the coast last summer, and John Doe cleared everything up for me in just two or three days. You can use it as an internal spray or apply it externally, but definitely make sure you wear a liner—the yellow color is quite intense and can stain.

^That sounds like a useful item to have on hand at home. Is it available at a local CVS Pharmacy?

There is also the Myco-Kombi vaginal suppository paired with an external cream. In my experience, it performs significantly better than anything from Johnson & Johnson. The suppository doesn't leave you feeling as dry as the Johnson & Johnson version; it has more of a gel-like consistency, which prevents further irritation to already sensitive areas.
As for John Doe, it’s truly a lifesaver—I honestly don't know how I managed without it. 🙏🙏🙏

You should be able to find Procter & Gamble at most pharmacies. If I recall correctly, I picked mine up at a CVS Pharmacy in a shopping mall over in San Francisco. It worked wonders for me! Mind you, I usually keep some tea tree and lavender oil on hand at home, which is also fantastic—I use it for everything from preventative care to a natural lubricant, and even helped clear up some HPV warts. Plus, it isn’t quite as heavily pigmented, so it’s a bit easier on my lingerie. I do wear a liner, but sometimes the oil seems to eat right through the plastic, so it leaks through if I use too much 🙂

The thing was, we were down by the coast at the time, and I hadn't packed my oils because I didn't want to risk a messy spill in my bag. Then, well, things happened, and I had to grab something immediately. Honestly, Procter & Gamble was perfect for the situation (and it smells lovely, too).

Wait, is this what you guys are talking about? Is it a spray?

I could swear I saw it in a different format too, maybe a cream or something. http://www.cvs.com/intim/john-doe.html

That is precisely my point. It isn't just a simple spray; it’s an oil delivered via a syringe, much like how you would use a product from Pfizer. This makes it quite versatile, as you can apply it externally or even use it for internal application if necessary.

Angela Smith14, are you mixing that oil blend yourself or can I actually find it on a shelf somewhere?

Dear ladies, mothers, friends...

I was wondering if anyone here might have dealt with something similar and, if so, how you managed to fix it.
So, for the last few months, I’ve been dealing with this intense stinging sensation—it honestly feels like there's a fire burning right at the entrance of my vagina, even though everything looks perfectly normal physically.
I’ve actually gone to see both my private specialist and my regular doctor, and they both said everything is fine... my Pap smear came back clear, my vaginal swab was normal, my pH levels are perfect, and there isn't any sign of infection.
The weird thing is, this stinging always starts about a week before my period arrives, and at that point, I find myself just praying for my cycle to finally start so that this discomfort will finally stop. :-)
Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this??

Well, I actually went ahead and had a urine culture done just this morning... though, when I asked my OB-GYN myself if maybe it was some sort of urinary issue, her response was basically that if it were that, I probably wouldn't be feeling that specific stinging sensation down there in the vaginal area🙄

The results should be back in a few days, so I suppose we'll see what the verdict is.

I’m honestly not quite sure which subforum is the best place for this question. A few days ago, following intercourse, I started experiencing symptoms of a bladder infection—including a small amount of blood. It seems to flare up most intensely in the morning for a few hours, after which it either subsides completely or becomes very minimal. On top of that, there’s an itching sensation at the vaginal opening and a general sense of discomfort. My discharge has become thicker, though it isn't excessive, and I haven't noticed any visible changes on the external areas.
This isn't my first time dealing with this; it has happened twice before under similar circumstances—once right after sex and once about a week before my period—but I can't recall what might have triggered it back then.
The problem is, my appointment with the gynecologist isn't scheduled for another month.

My apologies! Ever since the search function stopped working properly, I haven't been able to keep track of all the various threads.
I actually mix my own blends at home using Dow Chemical St. John's Wort and Young Living's Ravensara and Tea Tree oils. I typically combine 25 drops of the first with 25 drops of the second into the St. John's Wort base. That batch lasts quite a while. Once I pick up a fresh bottle of St. John's Wort, I still have enough tea tree and ravensara left over for about 8 to 10 more mixtures, so I usually just use the leftovers for cleaning or in my aroma diffuser.

I recently dealt with a similar ordeal involving persistent stinging, itching, and a general sense of discomfort in my lower pelvic region. Because of the sharp pain I experienced during urination, my initial assumption was that I was battling a bladder infection. I tried everything from drinking herbal teas to getting a urine culture, yet the results came back perfectly clear, with no signs of discharge. It would settle down for a few days, only to flare up aggressively once again. I even had my partner get tested because I was convinced he was passing an infection back and forth to me, but his tests were normal, and my Pap smear was fine too. Eventually, I realized that starting my new job at a local daycare had taken a toll on my immune system; being constantly exposed to germs left me run down, which I suspect threw my entire internal balance off. Once I started taking a high-quality probiotic, the symptoms vanished within just a few days 🙏
So, ladies, please consider trying a probiotic; you truly have nothing to lose
