Dentistry and finger injuries: What should I do?

Please take a look at this. I’m planning on going into dentistry. 🙂
I'm 18. When I was about five or six, I broke my finger. Nobody even noticed it was fractured, so I never wore a splint or had it set properly. Now, my middle finger is crooked—right where you hold a pen when you write. They told me writing would straighten it out... and sure, it helped, but it still protrudes about an inch toward the side where I grip the pencil. It actually hurts after writing for too long. I want to pursue a career in dentistry. Is this going to be an issue for the profession? Is it worth the physical toll?

Dentistry is pure manual labor. It demands extreme precision, but it also takes a toll on your body—your wrists, neck, spine, eyesight, you name it. If you don't have fine motor skills, this isn't the field for you. But based on what you're saying, I don't think it'll be much of an issue for you.
