Hey everyone. So, I’ve got this presentation coming up, and my professor is being super specific about everything needing to be in >. Can anyone actually explain what that means in plain English? I already know which images I need to include for the project.

During our seminar briefing, the TA basically told us to just toss the images into Adobe Illustrator, swap out the English text for American English, and call it a day. But then, right after that, the professor sends over the official materials with those strict instructions about the image formats, and now I'm stuck. Is the TA's advice actually legit, or am I going to need some specialized software to get this done properly?

Adobe Illustrator doesn't really handle vector graphics—it's just limited to bitmaps.

What kind of software should I be using for this, and honestly, how long is it actually going to take me to knock out a single image?

I've mostly just stuck to Microsoft—specifically Adobe Illustrator—which is pretty similar to how you'd use Adobe Photoshop.

If you're looking for free vector software, there's Adobe Illustrator—wait, I mean Inkscape. As for a free alternative to Photoshop, GIMP is probably your best bet.
Here’s a tutorial on how to turn a simple image into a vector using both Inkscape and GIMP:

What kind of images are we talking about here? I suspect they aren't photographs.
I believe the professor's request for a vector format was simply intended to ensure your images don't end up looking low-quality or pixelated—which won't happen as long as you maintain a high resolution. In that case, even Microsoft Paint would suffice, though the final result wouldn't actually be in a vector format. Just let him know that everyone will be happy with the outcome.
