Need help with VLC player

I’m running VLC version 2.2.1. By default, when I set up a slideshow of images, they stay stuck at 10 seconds per slide. I followed some instructions to record a playlist and then manually edited the durations in milliseconds using Notepad. I tried varying the timing—testing both 7 and 15 seconds—and verified that the changes were actually saved to the playlist file. However, every time I load the playlist back into VLC, it reverts to 10 seconds. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks in advance.

Maybe you were editing the wrong file? It happens all the time—you end up with two files with the exact same name in different folders.
