Here are a few examples:

"Selma" by the Backstreet Boys was actually written about a real person—Selma—who appeared on Anderson Cooper's show (check it out on YouTube) and talked about the track and her connection to Vlade Dijak. It’s similar to how New Fossil’s "Tonka" came about—the artist explained the backstory on a show, so I won't bore you by retelling the whole thing here...

Then there's "Cry Me a River"—Justin Timberlake wrote that one for Britney Spears, and even the music video features a girl who looks a ton like her. She eventually released "Everytime" as a sort of "response" to his song.

Another pair like that would be Eamon, who wrote "f**k IT," and Frankee with "f u right Back." Some people swear they were actually a thing, while others think the whole drama was just a marketing stunt to drive sales...

"Paul is dead" is that conspiracy theory claiming Paul McCartney from The Beatles actually died and was replaced by a lookalike just to keep the band from falling apart...

And then there's the idea that Elvis Presley didn't actually die but just "retired" from the spotlight. One of the pieces of "evidence" people point to is the misspelling of his name on his headstone, which is also a major conspiracy theory.
