Hey everyone!
First off, sorry for the massive wall of text, but I really wanted to get all this out there.
So, basically, I’ve been dealing with this issue for about a year now and I just can't seem to shake it,
meaning I can't get back to my old, normal self.
About 4 or 5 years ago, when I was feeling a bit more motivated, I decided to drop some weight—and I mean *really* dropped it.
I lost over 30 pounds in just three months... It was summer, sweltering heat... I barely ate anything. There were times I wouldn't touch food for three days straight while
grinding through two-hour workouts every single day. Obviously, I completely trashed my body, but at the time, I
felt amazing because I hit my goal, even if I did it the wrong way. I had no clue it would
backfire on my health like this later on. Everything seemed fine until last summer,
when I was working non-stop all day and eating practically nothing. I finally got home late at night and ate what
I think was just a tomato and some toast, laid down, and then the heat just hit me. My chest started stabbing and I felt absolutely
terrible. My family rushed me to the ER, and I kept telling them how much the food was coming back up and how everything
triggered right after I ate. They just bounced me from one department to another while doing zero for me. The only thing I managed to get there was
a huge dose of patience from waiting forever. Finally, they sent me home with a note saying, "If the chest pain returns, come back." Like, seriously?
That’s when I became almost 100% certain that I was having panic attacks because of that whole ordeal, something I'd never dealt with before.
You know that feeling where you leave the house and just totally freeze? Or go to a concert and all you want to do is get home? You can't even sit down for a coffee... man,
I'm too young for this. Maybe I'm wrong, but I honestly refuse to accept the idea that I have mental health issues.
After that "check-up" at the ER, everyone tried to convince me it was just panic attacks—my family, my primary care doctor,
everyone. And back then, I just rolled with it. I mean, how was I supposed to know what was actually happening to me?
It went on like that for a few months until I finally snapped.
Then I decided that if nobody else was going to help, I’d fight for myself, because I could feel deep down that something was wrong. I feel like I'm screaming inside
because things aren't right.
Just to add to this, I've had digestive issues for years, which my doctor always just brushed off, telling me
I just "lack life energy"... Give me a break.
Basically, whenever I eat something (not even a full meal, just a little bit), I used to get itchy skin,
but lately, it’s turned into unbearable stomach pain and sharp pains in the left side of my chest (which eases up if I lie down
and try to sleep).
Because of that, I've realized that my trip to the ER was caused by my digestion, not some psychological breakdown that
everyone convinced me I was having, which is probably a huge mess in itself now.
Recently, I took the initiative to get tested for food intolerances, but they couldn't even do it because I had caught some kind of gut infection that
was spreading everywhere(?).. anyway, I cut out everything possible: gluten, yeast,
sugar in any form, dairy. Basically everything.
Now, the bloating and those sharp pains are gone, but I still get these occasional chest pressures. Also, just so you know,
I am constantly exhausted. I wake up feeling like a zombie, I have no energy for anything, my muscles ache, and if I lean on my arm,
my joint starts hurting immediately. I know, I sound unmotivated and like I really do just lack "life energy," but I'm actually full of it. I want to do everything;
I feel like I could fly to the other side of the world right now, but when it comes down to actually doing it, I'm just too wiped out and end up
staying home watching movies. I don't want to live like this—I'm young and I want to enjoy life. It's summer, I've already been to the beach three times.
But instead, I wake up with nausea or arm pain, it's always something. I feel like my body is screaming internally and I just don't know why.
How am I even supposed to help him when I’m drowning myself? My main lifeline for getting through this mess is my doctor, but she basically thinks
I’m just making stuff up...
Also, gotta mention, my allergies have been absolutely relentless lately—constant sneezing, itchy throat, stuffed nose, plus two outbreaks of herpes in just two months
(which has literally never happened to me before) along with swollen lymph nodes (never dealt with that in my life either)
I really need some advice here. Who should I talk to? What can I actually do to make this stop? I used to have such an amazing life, but now I feel
like I’m eighty years old..
It’s not like I lack the drive—trust me, I’ve got plenty of zest for life—it’s just that my body feels completely drained, like it's screaming at me with all these
other symptoms...

So, what did they actually check for you at the ER?

Did you get bloodwork done? What did your CBC look like? Honestly, you should start with blood and urine tests, then go get your stomach checked out. You absolutely need to check your thyroid hormones, too—things can go totally haywire when your body is pushed to its absolute limit like this. Once you have those results, you'll know where to dig deeper.

It could be panic attacks—though a doctor shouldn't jump to that diagnosis until everything else has been ruled out—but it could also just be acid reflux. If stomach acid is creeping up, it can cause abdominal pain, chest tightness, and that choking sensation in your throat.

I get this sharp, stabbing pain in my left chest and just under my ribs whenever I eat anything containing sulfur dioxide (E220)—it’s one of those additives they throw into everything from jams to preserves.

Sulphur dioxide reacts with a wide range of substances found in food, including various essential vitamins, minerals, enzymes and essential fatty acids. Adverse reactions: bronchial problems particularly in those prone to asthma, hypotension (low blood pressure), flushing tingling sensations or anaphylactic shock. International Labour Organization says to avoid E220 if you suffer from conjunctivitis, bronchitis, emphysema, bronchial asthma, or cardiovascular disease.

Have you actually been tested for yeast infections? Candida is often just a byproduct of untreated diabetes—that might explain some of those other symptoms you've been dealing with.

How much are you getting out and moving around? Your health can take a massive dive if you're stuck sitting or lying down all day, especially when you factor in depression.
